Siem Reap with a car. What to do?
Cambodians (I assume you bring some...?) always like a visit to the town called Kompong Plukh on the shores of the Tonle Sap Lake for some souvenir shopping and a boat trip, it's just Southeast of Siem Reap. The same goes for the dammed lake Northwest of Siem Reap (forgot the name). No boat rides there though....

The "lake "to the Northwest is the West Baray. And you can rent a boat there.Don't know if you can still go to the West Mebon in the middle.Looks like they are rebuilding the Mebon.
Don't know if its true, but I heard the French used to fly the big flying boats from there in the 1920's.

Forget taking a boat at West Baray, no water. And choose your floating village wisely, many of them have become tourist traps. I know my favorite one but if I told you, I would have to kill you...henryhungfunny wrote:The "lake "to the Northwest is the West Baray. And you can rent a boat there.Don't know if you can still go to the West Mebon in the middle.Looks like they are rebuilding the Mebon.
