Bangkok Hospital is excellent. Their response time to emails is far better than Bumrungrad.
They also run a complimentary shuttle service from the airport to the hospital which is good.
I may have told this story before - can't remember:
Mrs PH has a hearing deficiency in her left ear. The Khmers said, 'operate, no question. It'll cost X.' Seeking a second opinion, we went to a ENT specialist in Vietnam, the Viets hooked her up to Siemens imaging and said, 'you could operate but you need to be aware of the risk of permanent hearing loss.'
Still unsure, we went to BH (because they were the fastest Thai hospital to respond to emails as above). We spent 2.5 hours, while she underwent a physical, imaging, evaluation of the previous diagnosis and prognosis, sound booth and even trailed a hearing aid, (which is obviously a money spinner for the hospital but I didn't feel we were getting the hard sell).
BH doctor concurred with the Viet's diagnosis of the underlying cause but based on the BH diagnostics, concluded she still had 10% hearing in the left ear and the small risk of permanent hearing loss following a failed surgery wasn't worth the risk to a young woman.
I'm not sure you could have asked for better from a private Western hospital.

I sought treatment (not ENT) in BKK by scheduling simple one-time consultations at 3 hospitals (a thaivisa mod's idea): Sriraj (King's Hospital), Bumrungrad and Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre. Bum was ultra expensive and seemed tuned to extract $$$, Sriraj somewhat less expensive and BKK just right, replying to my request for an appointment within minutes. The entire experience at BKK-H was superb over roughly 4 months and the treatment a resounding success -- as I'm still alive. BKK-H also picks you up at several BTS and MRT stations for free, running roughly ever hour back and forth.
Adding: My treatment at BKK-H was 140,000 baht less than Sriraj's estimate and 340,000 less than Bum's, although Bum's plan was a more advanced and more expensive procedure but I didn't think it was better or necessary.

I've had very good dental experiences at Bangkok Hosp Medical Center Dental Center (quite a mouthful!). You can even choose your dentist online ! One thing though - one time I received a diagnosis from an older female dentist, then returned for the procedure and saw a (very hot) dentist half her age who told me there was a better (more modern, easier) alternative which we successfully went ahead with. Guess I'm saying old age and experience does not always win the day when it comes to Medicine. Maybe a second opinion? Best of luck to you....
Oh also had a largeish fatty cyst removed from my head at Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre - Pattaya branch. Faultless, fast cheap and funny service there too!

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
