Hi,
my gf (not married) will start working in PP soon. I am looking to join her there and will of course be looking for a job myself then. So the big question right now is what visa to go for and how to get it?
There is something called an extendable E class visa I heard? How to get this? I am a German citizen in case that is of interest.
Or is it better to just get a tourist visa and then change it while I am in country? I suppose applying for a tourist visa without having a flight back might be a problem then?
Cheers,
aem
Also: Whoever is the admin here please unban Indian IP addresses. I am currently working in India and have to go through a VPN every time I want to use this forum.
Looking for employment from within Cambodia - Which Visa?
There is no ban on Indian IP addresses.
As for your visa, simply get an ordinary visa (previously called business visa) on arrival. It will last for a month, and can be extended for 6 or 12 month periods without leaving the country.
To work you will also need a work permit. Check other threads for information about that.

Thnaks a lot Scobienz!
On the FAQ of the Embassy (http://www.embassyofcambodia.org/faq.html) it says "supporting documents" would be required in order to get the ordinary visa on arrival. What would that be? I cannot produce a letter from my employer as I am about to look for one when I get there, right?
The German embassy does not mention any additional documents needed to acquire what they still call a business visa (only the additional cost). Maybe I should try getting a visa from them first and go for the on arrival thing if that does not work out?
Cheers,
aem

I'll let others answer re the supporting document question, but I believe that very few people (if any) are asked for such supporting documents in reality.
If asked, and I never have been, but, just incase, a simple 'oh, forgot, sorry' and $1-10 would be all supporting documents needed.
These extra charges are often levied at land borders, rather than airports. Just bring passport photos.

Alright. Thanks. Sounds like the country I had left in 2012. But there must have been a lot of changes as well.
What comes to your mind first when you think of what changed during the last 4 years (e.g. nightlife, eateries, places to live, things to do and to avoid)?
Also. Do the Bayon Wanderers still exist and which football team to join if they don't?
