leaving Cambodia without a current visa
so it seems clear that staying in Cambodia isn't going to be possible with my long overdue visa. next question
what will happen if I turn up at Siem Reap airport with a flight to Hong Kong booked and a new blank UK passport? will they let me leave or will I be detained. I do not have enough money to pay the fine.
thanks for your help.
Yes am an idiot for getting in this mess. no I did not drink smoke use drugs or hookers and waste my money. I just got stuck in a financial trap.

you cant leave without a entry stamp

Maybe you can sneak into Thailand, some Khmers do that for short term working (fruit picking, etc. ). You could sneak in with the illegals, and in most cases you don't get shot or arrested.

You can click your heels twice, but you'll just end up in Kansas.
Get a Viet visa in your passport, cross by land border, then fly out of V.
They will ask you about an entry stamp, but if you play total retard they will let move on because you are leaving the country and have a valid visa.
Just sayin

^ And what happens when you try to leave Thailand without a Thai visa?

What about lost & stolen Richard ? That will be the ruse for getting his new pp anyway I assume. Are their computers that good ? At worst, they'll ban him for 5 years or something probably.Phuket2006 wrote:you cant leave without a entry stamp
^^ Thailand has a fully computerised Immigration system.
Losing a passport here would gain you nothing on trying to exit the country.
Worse, from April, it has stepped up the severity of 'overstay' & now bans offenders from entering the country for a number of years based on the longevity of the overstay.

You're right, the days of the lost passport trick working are probably long gone. I wasn't talking about Thailand, but the Royal police, they're corrupt as Hell. Supposedly 100s of Uighurs were let into Thailand with no pps for 18,000B each. They got Turkish pps in Bangkok later from Isil. I know a guy in Thailand who got a multi-year overstay 'fixed' at immigration in Hat Yai for 15,000B too.RIH wrote:^^ Thailand has a fully computerised Immigration system.

if ur passport is lost / stolen u need do a police report, apply for a new passport, than go to immigration to get entry stamp in the new passport, same everywhere u go.wackyjacky wrote:What about lost & stolen Richard ? Even if not in computer, u had to arrive at some border and there is record
I had a passport stolen in India once, had a hell of a time getting entry stamp in new passport as i refused to pay Bakshish
took 2 months of daily visit to the "foreigners regional registration office" they just got tired of seeing me there ever day but were nice and served me tea and biscuits
Thailand has a MAX 20,000 baht fine for overstay if u clear it up yourself.I know a guy in Thailand who got a multi-year overstay 'fixed' at immigration in Hat Yai for 15,000B too.
but new laws , there are heavy penalties if caught or over 1 year overstay,
like being banned for 1,5,10 years depending on length of overstay
Getting into Thailand is so dam easy, hell i have accidentally driven into Thailand from Cambodia and not been stamped out of Cambodia or into Thailand before at the Pailin border
The problems arise when really want to leave by air

Lost passport won't help in addition to the police report, which is easy to obtain, you need to go to the place where you obtained your last visa and get a receipt from them to prove you had a valid Visa at the time your passport went missing then you can get the exit stamp to leave.

The guy I know who sent his pp to Hat Yai got multiple Malaysian & Thai re-entry stamps for his money I think.
I once got a new visa even though I had over stayed an expired one. There was a girl named Samol that used to have a travel stand on Sisowath near the bottom of 136 that did it for me. No extra fee or anything, and my visa was a couple of months overstayed. I don't think she is still there, but maybe she has set up shop somewhere else. Ask around.

What year was that? You were quite lucky! I believe it is much more difficult and extremely expensive now. Also, the OP is more than a couple of months overstayed.KPTIC wrote:I once got a new visa even though I had over stayed an expired one.
