I've just got a new passport but if I recall I had about 6 or 7 Cambodian visas in my last passport and half of them or more came unglued and I had to staple them. The three or four Vietnam visas I had or other visas from other countries from the same time periods always stuck much better and never fell out. They use shit glue here for sure.

I don't posters here were accusing you of passport tampering. We're just pointing out that you experience is abnormal and may give rise to a presumption by the immigration officers that you were tampering.
May I ask what country issues your passport? Perhaps if your passport is issued by an obscure country with crappy paper, that could explain why your stickers fall out when others' do not.

Just about all of us have been to other countries. My Cambodian visas are no more or less sticky than the my full page visas from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Iran, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Uzbekistan, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Pakistan, and South Sudan. I haven't noticed any problem with "cheap Cambodian glue," but in any event I don't think that's a good argument to pursue with Cambodian immigration officials.modric wrote:And maybe some of you guys quick to jump on my throat about deliberately removing them haven;t been to many other places than Cambodia because the quality in glue is definitely cheap shit compared to what other places that use stickers like vietnam, indonesia, Saudi, Oman etc. use. I've only started going to Cambodia in the last 3 years and I have ones from 8 years back still firmly in and no sign of coming loose. Sure I should have put them back in but seriously they use cheap shit compared to the ROW. Go to other countries and see for yourself.

Immigration may also be suspicious that you removed the visas deliberately in order to place them in someone else's passport. It would be a good idea to take the old visas with you if possible and blame their removal on water damage caused when you fell in a river or got caught in the rain. I assume the stamp is used to make tampering or transferring visas more difficult/ noticeable.

Sorry, is your story finished bro?spitthedog wrote:I had a visa come unstuck once before. IIRC one of the visa agents noticed it and stapled it back on for me.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
You seem a bit defensive about Camboidian glue....and you have a lot of posts on a Cambodian forum in a short time...sorry If I offended your country. Like the other posters all acknowledge that this glue is a lot worst than all the other countries but you seem pretty adamant it isn't. I think you are a bit bias in your judgement for my reasons above and if you had actually been to half those places than you'd know that what they use to stick in those visas are a lot different to what they use for the Cambodian ones...just saying.gavinmac wrote:I don't posters here were accusing you of passport tampering. The glue isn't always the best. I think they just use Pritt stick or some other useless crap like that. Anyway, getting past the bad glue thing, those pieces of paper that fell out were kind of important. Let us know how you get on. I work near the immigration prison so if the shit hits the fan I can get you a pizza or something, if that's ok with you buddy.modric187 wrote:..the quality in glue is definitely cheap shit compared to what other places that use stickers like vietnam, indonesia, Saudi, Oman etc. use. I had one fall out, but then I also helped one fall out when I was running short of space. Never had a problem.
I went to Jim'll Fix It in Penang once and he managed to "convince" his contact at the Royal Thai Embassy to simply stick a Non-imm B visa over the top of some old Lao ones...

Snookypat, 70 bucks in hand and going for a meeting at Immigration... What could possibly go wrong?modric187 wrote:... I'm just a bit nervous as I'm in Snooky at moment so got to make a 4 hour trip there and don't want to end up not being allowed back or detained or something like that...

Wouldn't do much harm to have a bit more bargaining power (if it comes to that) than 70 bucks in your pocket, no?modric187 wrote:how much are we talking do you think? so i kind of know if i should go to the atm and take out a chunk before I go PP, i got about $70 cash at moment would this be suffice?
Not sure I follow how this is going to be of much use in paying your way out of this - it's not like the gentlemen at immigration are going to take that as a credit note.modric187 wrote:i did pay the agency $165 for the extension so i will bring that paperwork also with me.
Anyway, hope you get this resolved.

So you believe gavinmac is Khmer? And are you sure he's been on this forum a "short time"? Maybe you should check again. I've never met him, but I'd be willing to bet that he's been to all those places, and more (he didn't mention Fire Island, but I don't know what country it's in...not that there's anything wrong with that!) You seem to make a lot of assumptions. How's that working out for you? Good luck with immigration! Make sure that you point out all of the flaws in their ministry and the country in general, not just the glue. They love that.modric187 wrote:You seem a bit defensive about Camboidian glue....and you have a lot of posts on a Cambodian forum in a short time...sorry If I offended your country.
