Well there are some guys believe it or not who are not too bright and only see their fiancees a few times before applying for a K1 fiancee visa ( Spouse is a K3) in regards to the United States.gavinmac wrote:DetroitMuscle wrote: Trust me when I say that I know of people who didn't get an immigration visa right away for negative reasons (officer didn't believe realness of relationship)
Does that happen to women with Western guys, or only to Khmers suspected of perpetrating some kind of fake engagement visa fraud? Why would a Western guy sponsor a woman for a spousal visa unless there was a real relationship?
The K1 Fiancee visa actually has a rule in place that you must prove you (the American petitioner) has seen your fiancee at least 2 times, in person, within the past 24 months.
Then, there are some guys who think it is okay to not fly over and be present at the US Embassy in Phnom Penh. Guys, from first hand accounts of people going through a K1 and K3 visa... Being present at your woman's interview is a huge plus.
I will share the holy grail with you all - http://www.visajourney.com This site is better than a lawyer, for real. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide
They have a sub forum dedicated to Cambodia where people that have just done the interview share their experience ( THE QUESTIONS THEY WERE ASKED, THEIR MISTAKES, REASONS DENIED) Invaluable stuff. They have a checklist with everything you need and how to do it. Also main forums about the visa process to America in general.
