Certainly not a Golden Eagle, maybe a Crested Serpent Eagle.slavedog wrote:Yesterday morning just outside our compound where there's a small informal street market, I was driving along and was surprised to see what I'm fairly sure was a golden eagle in the open boot of a Lexus. It was a beautiful creature, filled the boot of this smaller model Lexus SUV. It looked like its 's 'owner' was about to remove her from the car as I drove past.
I find it surprising that in our enlightened age, any one would want to keep a bird of any kind in a cage.

@ Hanno
Could you suggest a good, straightforward web resource suitable for identifying birds spotted in Cambodia ??
In particular birds of prey, (what appear to be) some species of kingfisher, and hornbills.

There isn't any specifically for Cambodia AFAIK, but Peter Ericsson has put a lot of photos of Thai birds on his site: http://www.pbase.com/peterericsson/birds_of_thailandStagger Lee wrote:@ Hanno

Most of the common birds here are also common birds in Thailand.
