The $30-$40 pairs from shops like Poly Optics are vastly superior to the $2 pairs in the markets; proper lens, proper frames, better designs and more durable. I find that the cheap pairs make my eyes much more tired than the better quality lens.
I have both though. I use the quality ones for work at home or in the office, and stick a cheap pair in my pocket for when I'm out in the evening, on the basis that I'm a klutz and keep losing and dropping them. I lose or break a cheap pair at least monthly.
