Despite its tough laws on pornography, the country possibly invented convenient full time pornography access way before internet was any sort of a vector.
Many moons ago It seemed like every provincial hotels of any standing had a 24/24 clerk tasked with randomly swapping VHS and Vcds from the mildest to the kinkiest puzzling kind of porn, on the house AV0 channel, freely available in the rooms.
Meanwhile the poor farmers and urban laborers weren't forgotten, with plenty of dark cafes showing the same movie selection but on multiple channels at a time.

I remember when there were hawkers around the beer gardens with stacks of porn VCDs.
I was at a beer garden in the central area way back. Besides the usual dodgy fuckers with I-coms I was with there was a striped up cop. So when this vendor comes along selling porno VCDs they start telling me how great they are and I should buy a few.
Judging by the covers, they were a mixture of big tits LA/ Vegas stuff and some dodgy shit. They might has well have been selling popcorn for the amount of fucks anyone ever seemed to give.
It was especially weird because the "captain's" (no idea what rank he had) bee-hived caked-up wife was there.
These days anyone can access whatever within seconds, so it has become ubiquitous.
Get caught producing or distributing porn here and you will easily end up in a world of shit though.

Interestingly enough, once I got with Morticia, I found my desire for porn dropped to zero...which speak volumes on so many levels, I will leave it at that.

As for porn available around, tbh, I just don't remember. I remember VCDs 18 years ago as mentioned above, but I cannot remember when exactly they popped up. But it had to be right around that time, as the technology for it wasn't here prior to that timeframe. The border casino hotels still play the porn channels.

I was told a lot of it was Chinese, piped through early cable TV. Russian market used to be(?) the place to get on it VCD I was told. Those portable VCD/CD plyers were cheap back then, $6 iirc. VCD's were around 3-4000R. A guy in No 9 was telling me they used to play it on the TV in there. Unfortunately, just before my time. (2002).

Somewhat off topic...but anyway....

A friend flew Korean Air long haul to the US some years ago. Movies were shown on the large screen for all to see (not the personal screen on the back of the seat in front). They were showing Brokeback Mountain. Some families were looking a little uneasy and shifting around awkwardly in their seats.
