Qualified (and skilled) sports physiotherapists PP?
I am looking for a good sports physio in PP.
A qualification is no sure cert of skill, I have found over visits to many practitioners in the past. I have some issues with lower back, hip, hamstring exacerbated by sciatica due to previous multiple fractures in the pelvic area, which tend to come out to play in rainy season.
All leads appreciated, those with personal experience moreso.
Thanks.

Not personaly, but I know of several people who used http://www.physiotherapy-phnompenh.com/ at both the TTP office and the Wat Phnom office with good results.
Convinced an uncle to try physio to help with a neck problem, after 9 months of Khmer quack painkiller medicine - two sessions with them he was off the meds.

I've used the one mentioned above, it's in an office block on Monivong just north of La Royal. I had some screwed up shit going on with my back or something, and they were able to sort it out. Very good service.

The Dutch guy Mark from the above recommendation sorted my lower back pain right out. Pain level during the one-hour massage = 7/10 but well worth it. I was very impressed with his analysis and treatment.

For many years my GF has neck & shoulder issues. For over 12 months she went to a Khmer Physio weekly with next to zero results ($10 session).
Recently she went to a Chinese person and after the first 3 weeks she feels 90% better (at $3 session).
If you want to know who & where, will ask her. But he also gives her 'traditional' Chinese medicine to drink... just so you know
Personally I am extremely sceptional of Chinese medicines.

I have had great results with acupuncture for sciatica in the past.
If you could ask her if this Chinese practioner does acupuncture, and if so,the address; I would appreciate that.
Thanks!

Mark Chen at PP PHYSIO does dry needling, which is like acupuncture but instead of putting a needle into yet hel to cure yer nose, the needle goes straight into the muscle and is given a little twist to prompt a reaction. Good stuff I like it.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

I bought a softball baseball from one of the Japanese shops.
Butt naked in the bathroom rolling the ball on my ass against the tiled wall, just behind the hip bone on the lumpy piriformis muscle (what a lovely mental image).
Do the same on the front hip flexors and thighs.
Anyone tried it?

I will second(/third, whatever) Mark Chen at Physiotherapy-Phnom Penh. Fyi, the staff move between both locations so you can meet that at the nearest location if your timing is flexible. Also, some of the are taking holidays at the moment so you may not be able to get your first choice.

I asked her if the Chinese lady also does acupuncture, but the answer was 'No'. I'll give you the details anyway:Jackal wrote:I have had great results with acupuncture for sciatica in the past.

Yes. Fixed a long term knee problem I had.Lucky Lucan wrote:I've used the one mentioned above, it's in an office block on Monivong just north of La Royal. I had some screwed up shit going on with my back or something, and they were able to sort it out. Very good service.
As a previous poster mentioned, Mark Chen at Physiotherapy Phnom Penh does dry needling; Dick van der Poel, the Dutch-certified physiotherapist, does acupuncture. He studied acupuncture in Singapore, and I recommend him strongly!
