That's a bit of a stretch... 50 million people live east of the Siliguri corridor inside India. I haven't been to Mizoram but I lived 8 months in Sikkim and explored a fair bit of the rest of the northeast as well- and they are a much more civilized peoples than the brown Indians by every measurable parameter. If the immigration officers were geographically astute they ought to be easier on these people and just waive them thru despite their misfortune in possessing an Indian passport.
My suggestion to the OP is to ensure that she's well funded before embarking on this trip. Taking the bus across Poipet is a terrible idea for a first time traveller and pretty much asking for trouble. Air Asia is probably cheaper anyway.
