Applied for 12 month visa two days ago got it back today. All as usual no questions or forms
There is nothing more Australian than spending time in somebody else's country
What letters did they stamp it with, ie. EB?Spad wrote:Applied for 12 month visa two days ago got it back today. All as usual no questions or forms

PSD Kiwi's comments and insights into visas and work permits are bloody helpful. Well done that man!
EB... Business visa ... is that what you applied for? A friend just applied for an ER one it came back with EB stamped on it.... told not to worry as long as your not working which certainly will not be.Jamie_Lambo wrote:interesting Spad, is it the same visa as always or any differences, regards to all the "new extensions"?PSD_Kiwi wrote:What letters did they stamp it with, ie. Hmm... sounds like immigration isn't quite ready to go with the new visa classifications. Did your friend apply for his retirement visa after 1 SeptemberBaconroll wrote:EB... I'd be worried as it has been stated that if you have an EB Visa you need a WP or you will face a fine and be deported when the Immigration Police come calling.Baconroll wrote:EB... I went to the agency today and picked up my 1 year visa. It was all smooth, no problems with anybody. My new visa is stamped 'ER.'
Excuse my ignorance, I'm just wondering why some posters in this thread are concerned if their visa's stamped 'EB' or 'ER'.
Since ignorance is bliss, I'm just happy I got my 1 year extension of stay.
Thank you all

ER means you have the Retirement extension of stay. EB is Business. Currently they are not asking for documentation to ensure you qualify for the visa extension you apply for, but no doubt that will change once the relevant Prakas has been amended and the Govt officials finally get their shit together, so will be a while me thinks.Savittre wrote:I went to the agency today and picked up my 1 year visa. Thailand ( which i assume there following) sets being retired at over 50 and than you need show funds.

What is considered proof of retirement?
I would not be working and under "normal" retirement age. Would this visa be my best option and would I qualify?

Hi Phuket2006, I have the scan of the ER extension in my Photo Library now, but as I'm new, have been unable to upload it. I tried, then read the FAQ about it, tap Img, and that's as far as I can get. Sorry. It's frustrating when you can't do something everybody else can. I'll work on it.Phuket2006 wrote:i'd like to see a scan of the extension with an ER
