Where can I get copies made, print reports, etc
I just got to Siem Reap this week and the people where I live require a copy of my passport and a copy of my VISA for the immigration form they keep. I came to the country with multiple copies of the passport main page, but I need to find a place to make copies of my VISA. It will also be handy to know where I can print things from a flash drive if I ever have reports or something to have ready. I live in the sala kamruek part of Siem Reap, but I don't mind if I have to tuk tuk.
Try a camera shop as they often double as photographers for such things as passports, visas etc. They often have a bank of copiers. There are a few in Wat Bo Street.

just ask the tuk tuk or motodop. or a student, they make copies for school all the time, they should know.

Take a photo of your visa with your phone and then text it to them. Solved.

I know this is a devolping country but surely most people have a printer?
Besides which I'm pretty sure it's the landlord/business responsibility to get copies.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
Landlords shift ALL costs to their occupants, without exception, arguable or not. This is particularly evident in the Sino-Khmer rental tier.YaTingPom wrote:I know this is a devolping country but surely most people have a printer?

(Who thinks of bringing their printer with them unless they are being relocated by an employer?)

Printers are a pain in the arse and I don't think most people have much need for one out of the office environment.
Print shops are all over town, just need to keep your eyes peeled. There's several in Sihanouk Blvd.

..... people who think there might not be ready access to quality colour printing available in Cambodia?
Is there quality colour printing available?

There are print shops fucking everywhere and they cost fuck all per page.

I had an inkjet printer a couple of years ago which was a massive pain the the arse (it wasn't a particularly cheap one either). I'm convinced the weather here dries out the ink quickly. I was continually cleaning the nozzles and refilling the ink - the convenience was lost when I had to go out and replace ink every other time I wanted to use it!violet wrote:why are printers a pain the arse (to own)?1984 wrote:Printers are a pain in the arse and I don't think most people have much need for one out of the office environment.

Got rid of it and have been happily using print shops since.
Maybe a laser printer, which are relatively affordable now, would be ok.

Anyone else have experience of how inkjet printers function in Cambodua's climate? People working online from home may need printing facilities depending on the type of work being done. Having to go out to get something printed is just silly.

Having no printer and needing to put to get printing done has really challenged me to go more paperless. Probably out of laziness rather than environmental reasons though.
I realised that much of the printing I was doing wasn't that necessary.
