I tried doing what the locals do by sticking sellotapes -- got a few hundreds but millions more came from left and right.
Stick smashed up lemon grasses upside down but it only do the trick for 10 minutes or so
Raid the fuckers, but goes back to square one after the effect died off
Electronically tennis bat is just stupid as I will have to swing it back and forth all night
Suggestions?

If you aren't satisfied with the solutions you know already then the only solution left is to turn the light bulb off.

Thats what I exactly did for the past many months. Trying to seek better alternative. Turn off your lights while trying to see whether there is any winning prize from the pull ring is too much of an effort. I think I swallow more of those fuckers than grain of rices in the last 3 days in my beer cans.

Tether a tokay to the light fitting.

Some LED bulbs claim to produce light in a frequency range not visible for / attracting bugs, might be worth a try. Never tried myself whether the claim is true or false, but have seen these bulbs in BKK for sure.

Those are river insects, move to higher ground. That's all.

Maybe you could replace light bulbs with those bug killing electrified lights that you can hang? I replaced my outdoor light on the terrace with that and they make so much carnage that I could sell it as fertiliser. Don't forget it on at night or you will have a pike of moths in the floor.

Yup. I think the yellow globes will solve your problem.
