I think it may depend if it is for resale or for donation.Phuket2006 wrote:as the title indicates,

I have brought in about 100+kg previously without any taxes.
It was for an NGO though and i had a letter up my sleeve but I wasn't asked for it. As soon as they heard the stuff was second hand they weren't bothered.
Might depend how much you plan on importing.
I abandoned 2 ton of donated used goods from Australia because the pricks wanted too many $$.
To be fair, that was a few years back.

I understand (have been told by several different people independently) that clothes banks in western countries which collect second hand clothes and shoes for donation to 'poor' countries send bales of stuff to Cambodia and are held by the government (no idea which ministry).
People are then invited to bid on bales of clothes/shoes with no idea what is inside them. Sometimes they get lucky and the stuff is nearly new and they make a good profit and other times it is of lesser quality...
Only relevant because this is the competition for second hand clothes sellers.
Could you purchase, transport & cover import duties for less than donated clothing - I doubt it.

I'm not certain what happened to my stuff.Phuket2006 wrote:a friend currently exports containers from hk to PI and was thinking about Cambodia

I told the little shits to shove the stuff up their arse.
Followed by a phone call to Oz to tell the organisers to not bother sending the other tons they were collecting..
Cambodia's loss, Papua New Guinea's gain!

If it hasn't got Hello Kitty, a cat or rabbit, with floppy ears, on it then you wouldn't be able to give it away.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
yet they will buy the stuff.YaTingPom wrote:If it hasn't got Hello Kitty, a cat or rabbit, with floppy ears, on it then you wouldn't be able to give it away.
