Flight price increase 2017?
Today i visited skyscanner site to check some ticket pricesback to the netherlands. 1 Year ago i booked a ticket in the same periode with a price of 410$ (retour bkk_ams in may-august)now the prices are 700+$. on internet some sites said the price of tickets stay stabile in 2017. but 300$ is a massaive increase. More people noticed this?

Not particularly - a small increase, perhaps, but nothing substantive. As always, the secret is to book well ahead and be prepared to trade convenience around flight times and connections with the price.

I've been looking at flights and have perceived an increase. Looking into it some advice is to book now more than 5 months in advance and not less than 6 weeks - apparently that's when the deals get released.
Dunno how true it is.
What I do know is that other folk always seem to get better flight deals that what I can find!

If you booked $400 return to Amsterdam last year you got lucky and found a promotional fare of some kind. That price has never been the norm.

Agree. That price seems ridiculously low.gavinmac wrote:If you booked $400 return to Amsterdam last year you got lucky and found a promotional fare of some kind. That price has never been the norm.
Even the new price of $700 seems reasonable to me.
China southern airlines offered a direct flight in the 400 priceclass, also etihad was -500$ ( no promotions) i booked 2 times a retourtickets around 400$( different periodes)
Come on, get real. You were lucky. And China Southern doesn't offer direct flights BKK-AMS - you have to change planes at either CAN or PEK, and those cities will have you fly a lot more miles. Unless there's a code sh`re with KLM, but there's simply NO WAY that one's on offer for 400USD return, unless you travel the other way: AMS-BKK.bartderks wrote:China southern airlines offered a direct flight in the 400 priceclass, also etihad was -500$ ( no promotions) i booked 2 times a retourtickets around 400$( different periodes)
Etihad had some nice promotions in the past, but only when there were promotions. I never got under500 EUR with them on the BKK-AMS route.
Indeed china southern-klm. Direct flights bangkok-ams. And the prices where many months around 400$, and no promos. Believe it or not, but its true, i shall try to find thetickets back in my emailbox. Probarly china soutern and klm dont offer thus route anymore.
I hust fiund 1 ticket back, 3_10_2016 i had a return fkight dusseldorf- bangkok bangkok dusseldorf with air berlin ( etihad or emirates) 376euro 2way.
And my flights in june and august where also around 400$. and it was not lucky, because in 2016 the flights where alot cheaper as now! in septembre a fkight amsterdam- montreal (return) around 450, now same fkight double price.
Thats why its strange the prices are almost doubled in 2017, and in 2016 it was not lucky, because prices where many months low.

I've just found similar deals for my dates. Booking from KUL much, much cheaper.
Now I can afford to have a Guinness in the airport!
In 2016 bangkok was the cheapest way to fly to europe, as i said 400$, i found a screenshot in my telephone of skyscanner, date octobre 2016 kuala lumpur - amsrerdam-dusseldorf 476$ (return) but somehow prices are much higher in 2017, especially bangkok to europe.
In january i was plamning to visit the netherlands again, but couldnt find a ticket less than 900$. my parents visited cambodia in decembre and paid 613 $ amsterdam_ phnom penh r/t
