Scholarships for Cambodian students
Scholarships for Cambodian students
Dear all,
There is a couple of young students in the community where I am working who want to study but are lacking the money. Some of them are already doing a bachelor and are having excellent grades but specializing on sth. (e.g. in medicine) costs even more and they cannot afford to do this. There must be a number or organisations providing scholarships for talented people like this. Can you recommend a couple of them please?
Cheers!

'Talented people like this'.
What makes them more talented than all the others doing the same (many of whom don't display much talent at all)? Perhaps add their unique features to your post.

why would you care about that? they will have to proof their qualifications when applying for the respective scholarship, won't they? I am not here to sell them to anyone or to force anyone to do anything. it is a simple inquiry about what options a young Cambodian who wants to study but lacks the money has.violet wrote:'Talented people like this'.

with regard to the topic I found a decent database in the meantime: https://www.daad.de/deutschland/stipend ... e=1&back=1
I am afraid that most of the scholarships in that database are limited to studying in Germany though.

I believe most proper universities such as RUPP give scholarships to all the top high school students who get A grades in the final exam. So perhaps your students didn't get A grades and thus are not so really talented!
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

again. why are you saying this? each scholarship has its unique requirements and whoever applies will have to fulfill them. But just as a matter of fact, this student indeed had an A in all of his classes last year. So he might apply for this scholarship now that he has started his last year of theory. I was just thinking it cannot hurt to inquire about additional options. Also with regard of other students facing similar challenges in the future.

I would imagine if you contact these foundations they may be able to point you to others offering scholarships to Cambodian students. Good luck

I've seen adverts offering placements in a few newspapers often by Singaporean universities.

Yes, because only the top 0.5% of students (as per the questionable assessment process) could possibly be worthy of further study...horace wrote:I believe most proper universities such as RUPP give scholarships to all the top high school students who get A grades in the final exam. Sorry OP I don't really have any leads. Other than individual universities have scholarships based on entrance exams. And these scholarships are rarely greater than 40% of annual fees - but be careful with these as often contain small print which require scholarship to be repaid prior to graduation if they fail even only 1 module.
The French government also offers scholarships every year, I think the details are available at the French cultural centre on 182.
Hmm, that would involve actually going into a place that could contain French people though.logos wrote:The French government also offers scholarships every year, I think the details are available at the French cultural centre on 182.
