Either that, or it can always morph into a mid-sized Chinese town.If all this construction comes to completion, PP will soon be able to house the whole of Cambodia.

my mom has an old flat on a favorable street, monivong blvd. she rent it out for a 1.2k a month.
i have some relatives who build borey on the outskirt of pp, they seem to do just fine. they just bought a newer version lx570 the one with a long rectangular screen, and even added a porsche macan to their collection for a mere 160k.
even them crazy cnrp supporters are moving up on the economic ladder.

$200k on the car. $200 per month on your kids education.
Debt and barter is too common. I personally love seeing expensive cars lining up to buy 5000 riel pork and rice for lunch.

“The first 1,000 hectares is used for plot land and residential houses. While the first plot land project is already completed, next month the company plans to officially announce a flat house project,” she added.
Just 14 kilometers away from Phnom Penh, the Sky Land project is located in an industrial area where there are around 20 factories with nearly 40,000 workers.
“For residential land in the Areyksat Commune along road 380, starting prices are between $400 and $500 per square meter; riverbank land starts from $150 to $250 and the lowland $30 to $50 per square meter -- with guarantee of legal ownership. It is also possible to find lower land at a lower price, but there’s no assurance that there’s no hidden conflict,” he added.
“For the land located close to borey and condominium projects, prices can range from $80 to $150 per square meter. In this area, there are also some subdivisions of plot land projects, and prices can go from $100 to $150 per square meter,” according to Mr. Sopheak.
If a standard plot is 4.5x20 m, then it is 90 sqm and we get maybe 50-100 plots per hectare, depending on how much space we reserve for roads, shopping and so on. 1000 hectares then gives 50-100 thousand plots, this allows for some double wides for the upper class. Maybe then we 200-500 thousand people in there easily, of which 40 thousand will be the factory worksers. Not quite a mid sized Chinese town but of course exploitation can increase.
And with $100 per square meter on average, a single plot is $9000. Maybe the best double wides will go for $30k. plus the house, of course. so prices are within reach of most Chinese. Also westerners on a tight budget might move in. Only problem is of course that foreigners can't own land but maybe Cambodia can start to offer long term leases.
