Hi again, everyone:
I'm sorry this is a bit of a laundry list -- I figured it was either that, or clutter up the forum with a bunch of different threads. So here goes:
1) Where can I make a printout of a .pdf from a flash drive? At the copy store on Sihanouk at street 51, perhaps?
2) Does anyone know where I might be able to get something notarized? Other than at the US Consulate, which will take a day and probably end with me getting *extremely* frustrated and/or depressed?
3) If I need to send something to the US -- a paper document -- and I need it to get there securely, is there a particular shipper I should prefer, and how exactly would you recommend that I proceed (e.g., whether to contact them first in person or via email/phone, etc)?
4) Anyplace other than Lock & Lock that sells big, bowl-like coffee cups? I got one at Central Market but it was literally the only one the guy had, and that was after most of an hour of asking at other stalls. Lock and Lock will have them but they'll be *perishingly* expensive there.
5) In my spare time I am going to be doing some volunteer work for an outfit called IAMAT (the International Association of Medical Assistance to Travelers), and one of the things they'd like me to do for them is to spitball a list of potential doctor's offices, clinics, and hospitals to visit in Cambodia (in Phnom Penh and elsewhere) to be researched for possible inclusion in their travelers' directory. Would anyone like to recommend a health service provider or two, for inclusion in my list of suggestions?
Thanks and sorry again about the wacky list.
Cheers,
Dave.
PS: Yes, I *am* willing to cross the street if necessary so, uh, yeah -- there's no need to "go there" again on my account.
Weird laundry list of questions, sorry

1. There are print shops everywhere, especially near schools, and also on street 110 (between 110 and 15). The price should be 100 riel per sheet (b&w).
3. There was a thread on this recently. La Poste is good on 102 at 13. Their regular mail is reliable for low cost and they have a premium service. If it is something irreplaceable then go to DHL.
5. The only medic who truly impressed me in Cambodia is Dr Chhun Lay, cardiologist. He has a clinic on 118 (between 51 and 53). He has some good kit to perform stress tests on the heart.

1) Yes right there.
2) Any law firm.
3) DHL, go there with your passport and the document.
4) Check Pencil, Lucky and other markets than Central.
5) Chenda Polyclinic
Bless

Update: The joke was decidedly on me regarding #4. I got kicked out of my apartment for the afternoon for cleaning, and found myself in Lock & Lock on my way to Orussey, just to see what they had. Imagine my surprise when the big, bowl-like coffee cups at the back were the same price ($3/ea) as I paid for the one at Central Market.
When you get back you're memory stick be careful, it happens more than once you get it back infected with some virus.QED wrote:1. There are print shops everywhere, especially near schools, and also on street 110 (between 110 and 15). The price should be 100 riel per sheet (b&w).

Correction, I should have said "on 110 between Norodom and 15."QED wrote:1. There are print shops everywhere, especially near schools, and also on street 110 (between 110 and 15). The price should be 100 riel per sheet (b&w).
Haha, yes - often the way. Next time have your lady do the shopping at the markets.Dangerous Dave wrote:Update: The joke was decidedly on me regarding #4. I've used HBS Law & Notary near Psah Thmei before, they seemed to do a good service but it took more than a day.Dangerous Dave wrote: 2) Does anyone know where I might be able to get something notarized? Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
I'm not sure what are big, bowl-like coffee cups, but plenty of very cheap different coffee mugs (less than $2 and often had more discount at the cashier) at the store on the corner of Monivong bvd and Kampuchea krom. It's called JJ mega corp (in what was formerly BS Department Store).Dangerous Dave wrote: 4) Anyplace other than Lock & Lock that sells big, bowl-like coffee cups?
