I need some certified copies of official documents (passport, birth certificate etc.) to send back to Australia. Anyone know how to go about this?
I'm in Siem Reap.
TIA!
Where can I get 'Certified copies' of official documents made in Siem Reap?
No idea, but there must be an Australian consulate in SR, or at least a Charles Fortnum character who can give the information.

There is NO Australian Consulate General at Siem Reap. In addition to which, Embassies and Consulate Generals usually charge for performing such services, when available.
What you need to find is one of the following from Australia either resident in the Siem Reap area or on holiday there:
1. A Justice of the Peace in and for the State/Territory to which the documents will be sent to who can attest to the certifying as a true copy of the original document as sighted by him/her and to which he/she can afix his/her signature and, in the case of NSW, and probably other states/territories as well, his/her JP Official Identification Number.
2. A Commissioner for Declarations for the Commonwealth of Australia who can do the same as above.
There are others who can also perform such functions but most unlikely to be found in Siem Reap area.
So start talking to the more sober Ozzies and see what/who you can flush out. Yes, I know, a difficult species to find when they are in holiday mode abroad.

A poor show from the Aussies in SR if there is nobody for them there. Even Battambang's got one, well it's just a bloke who occasionally has to tag/identify a corpse and deliver mail to pedos in nick (I believe he is responsible for all commonwealth countries). The yanks had that bloke who looked like he was in a ZZ Top covers band down in Shitsville.

Thanks everyone. Correct, sadly there is no Consulate or Embassy here. I pretty much just need to weed out an Australian JP... wish me luck!

Apart from France, there are NO consular representations in Siem Reap.
In addition to which, the French consular representative is only an Honorary Consul and is to be found at the EFEO - Ecole Française d’Extrême-Orient

The only Aust. JP that I know lives in Kampot.
Go to a popular expat watering hole in SR and simply ask if anyone knows a JP. You might get lucky.

There is a FB group called ‘Australian Expats in Cambodia’, someone on there might be able to point you in the right direction.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
