Are any vaccinations recommended?
1 adult, 1 baby visiting in August.

Can we queue up for immigration together (wife has Cambodian passport)?

My daughter has a brand new UK passport so she needs an exit visa. Any advice on how this works?

Exit Visa simple, take the following to the DoI opposite airport;

- kids Cambodian birth certificate,
- kids foreign passport,
- couple pp pics,
- foreign Certificate of Citizenship / Citizenship by Descent (not necessary, but it never hurts to overwhelm officials with lots of documentation )
- and parents passports.

Apply for Exit Visa, pay $20, wait 1-2 days for a phone call to say the exit visa is ready, go back and collect.

Exit Visa is only valid for 7 days from date of issue, so plan accordingly.

Yes, from my experience you can all go together to the UK/EU desk. The officer will be OK with that and he will quiz you jointly.
No vaccinations recommended. No need for medical insurance as visitors get free emergency medical treatment (but not non-emergency of course).

I looked it up and emergency medical treatment has a very narrow definition according to this site;

Emergency treatment is free

If you have an accident or need emergency medical treatment, you will receive that treatment free of charge, regardless of your nationality or place of residence as long as that emergency treatment is delivered at:

a primary care facility or General Practitioner's office, known as a GP's Surgery

a hospital emergency room, called Accident and Emergency (A&E) or Casualty in UK hospitals
A walk-in center providing services similar to an emergency room.

That service only extends to the immediate emergency. Once you are admitted to a hospital - even for emergency surgery or further emergency treatment - you have to pay for your treatment and medicines. If you are asked to return for a clinic visit to follow up your emergency treatment, you will also have to pay for that. If the doctor prescribes medication, you'll have to pay the full retail price rather than the subsidized price paid by UK residents. And, if you run up charges of £1,000 and you or your insurance company fail to pay within the specified time, you could be denied a visa in the future.

Could he instead bring the kid's UK passport and the wife's Cambodian passport, and get a K visa inserted into the kid's passport for free, and then no need for an exit visa?

@ Migs ...No, the K-type (Special) Visa is issued on arrival only. In the past it was sometimes possible to obtain it in country, for a fee, but most recent reports indicate that is no longer possible.

My bad, I seemed to remember people talking about getting it at the MoI across from the airport. I thought Slavedog's wife went to do that, but they wanted some tea money, so he just did it at the airport.

In march the staff at the office opposite the airport told me there were plans to allow the K visa to be issued in country, but for the foreseeable future it's only available on (re)entry. It used to be a lifetime visa, now has a 5 year expiry (possibly linked to the passport expiry).

The exit visa is also, allegedly, supposed to be issued prior to the child reaching 3m old. After that there's a fine. We paid $30.

Yes, but that also requires an exit and reentry. Can't be obtained in country. For now.

Now linked to passport, so depends on whether 5 or 10 year passport, and when K-type visa is applied for.

That only applies to children born in Cambodia whose parents are both foreigners. The child needs to be registered with the DoI within 3 months of the birth, they were issuing visas without the need for the kid to leave for a while, but now the kid needs an Exit visa, leave the country and then return on a new visa then apply for the relevant EOS.

Absolutely no requirement if the Kid has at least one Cambodian parent, because the kid is a Cambodian citizen by birth.

As Epidemiks said, exit and re-entry is required...for now.

I did this a couple of weeks ago for one of my boys. Cost of exit visa was $40 but I think this is a scam so probably varies depending who you deal with.

Why are you guys even dealing with exit visas? Why not just get the kid a Khmer passport?
