An exit visa is easier and cheaper than a UK visa.
Khmer passport is probably easier within ASEAN, though.

Or are you thinking of leaving Cambodia on a local passport and then using a UK passport to enter Britain?

That only applies to children born in Cambodia whose parents are both foreigners. The child needs to be registered with the DoI within 3 months of the birth, they were issuing visas without the need for the kid to leave for a while, but now the kid needs an Exit visa, leave the country and then return on a new visa then apply for the relevant EOS.

Absolutely no requirement if the Kid has at least one Cambodian parent, because the kid is a Cambodian citizen by birth.

Hmm. Well thats the story they told us.
So how does a kid exit on a foreign passport without an exit visa?

If they're exiting on a foreign PP (without a valid visa/EOS) then of course they need an Exit Visa.

Exactly what I mean. They have a UK passport, and are eligible for a Cambodian passport. So, why bother with getting an exit visa, and why not just get the Cambodian passport for them right away?

It was a great trip and we got to see everyone and everything I wanted to see. We got the K visa on the way back, which was straightforward.

BTW, I noticed at the airport that Japanese, S Korean and Chinese visitors can get 3 year multi-entry visas on arrival.

Japanese can get 1,2,3 yr multi entry Tourist and Ordinary Visas on arrival, have been able to for a few years, there are certain restrictions though.

Have they actually added Chinese & Sth. Koreans? Last time I entered Immigration just recently, the screens were still only displaying those options for Japanese pp holders.

Fucked up thing is...Japs can get a 3 yr multi entry VOA for less than what it costs everyone else to get a 12mth EOS.
