Whiskey
I am not a drunkard, or even close, but I do like my whiskey now and again. Are there any fair locally brewed brands of, preferably bourbon, or other whiskey's? Also has anyone tried making mango liquor?

Darn, I don't think a keg of "Jack" will fit in my suitcase. I did look up recipes for the mango liquor and it doesn't look too hard. I had 30+ mango trees at the last place in Thailand so I came up with some great food. I made homemade sweet mango pineapple chutney that was so good I put it in homemade ice cream. now that was "Rich".

Friend of mine sold 10000 bottles of locally produced whiskey in the early 2000. That involved flying in an aroma expert, diluting medical grade alcohol and mixing with the aromas before selling a bottle about 10000 riels

That sounds like an awful lot of work for very little money. I asked because in Thailand the cost of real bourbon is nuts. I ended up drinking rum there too. It took me to the same place and a whole lot cheaper.

Johnsell50 - You may not be able to fit a keg of Jack in your suitcase but it's dead simple to refill a washed out former wine cask bladder. They fit well. Several capacities available as best suits needs and requirements.

I wonder what they would do to me if they found it at the airport. They do scan them at the American end. They might lock me up for transporting explosives.

You will probably find that common US brands like, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, and Makers Mark are cheaper in PP than they are in Thailand and the US

Well, Johnsell50, I used to know an Australian surgeon much in love with vodka. He simply packed his official duty free allowance then labelled the rest in separate screw top containers as, Surgical Spirit. As far as I know, this is still working just fine.

Thanks all. If real bourbon is as cheap there, or cheaper than here, I will definitely be drinking that.

Imported spirits are cheaper in cambodia than anywhere in Asia. I live in laos but work in PP often, and always buy 4x litre bottles from the shop next to Luckys on Sihanouk, wrap them well in clothes and pack them in my check-in case. Never any problems.
