Can I get an EB visa via bus from Thailand
I am planning on flying into Thailand then taking a bus from Bangkok to PP. I know I can get an EB visa at the airport BUT can I get and EB visa while doing a land crossing via the bus. Also, I am only going to be there for two months, should I even bother if I get an extension to my tourist visa. Thank you in advance.

Logos so eloquently summed it up.
Just get a tourist visa at the border, and once here in Phnom Penh you can get an extension. If you fail to get an extension, you will have to pay a $10 a day overstay penalty.

Thank you very much. I assume an agency will be able to get me another month?

Correct, and you'll see them everywhere.kritsana77 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2019 8:54 amThank you very much. I assume an agency will be able to get me another month?
1. T-Type (Tourist) VIsa on Arrival, $30 plus 1x passport pic (or an extra dollar or 2 if you don't have one),valid for 1 month.
2. At least 1 week prior to your Visa expiring apply for a 1 month Tourist Visa Extension of Stay, approximately $45 from most agencies. You cannot get any more extensions after this, you need to leave the country.
Note: The T-type VOA and EOS are Single-entry only.
(...and just for your information, there is no such thing as an EB Visa, and certainly not on arrival. The visa on arrival you are referring to is the E-type (Ordinary) Visa, EB is the Business Extension of Stay category of the E-type Visa )

you can get an EI visa at the border. EB visas are extensions of EI visas. EB visas are not issued at any border. E is the ordinary or business visa classification.
Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
Dear Kritsana,, that's a long journey on a bus and probably more expensive than a one hour Air Asia flight~ but the bus trip is an experience~
Massive respect to you.

Jep, I lived in Thailand for 15 years but moved back to the U.S. six months ago to take care of my mom. My plan was to fly into BKK, go to my doctor, get my transcripts from my Uni for my masters and take a VIP bus from Mo Chit to PP. Is the VIP any good? I'll google that I guess.
If I were to take an Air Asia flight it would be 5-6 K Baht plus luggage I assume. I took the bus from PP to BKK once and it was hell for sure. I still have a few weeks to plan so I'll see what happens.
I'd have to pay two visas for Thailand so it all adds up I guess.
Thanks

It's only 40-50 bucks to fly.,
example next Friday morning flight is $88 NZD~ about 1,800 baht.
The VIP sleeper buses are good apparently, probably slightly cheaper,..but why bus it? Treat yourself.

No such thing as an "EI" Visa...it is an E-type (Ordinary) Visa.
The Visa number will start with EI, all visas and EOS's issued by the DoI wil start with the Visa Type Letter followed by the letter I (ie. TI, KI, EI, etc.) which indicates that it was issued by the DoI.
Visas issued by the MoFAIC, including those issued by Cambodian Embassies, will have a Visa number beginning with the Visa Type followed by the letter F (ie. EF, TF, CF, AF, etc.).

If its a US one, you can fly in and get a 30 day visa exempt stamp for Thailand>No problem, but check with your airline if they will allow you to board with out a visa
you could take the early train up to to Aranyaprathet for only 50 baht, tuk tuk to the border and a bus to PP, BUT i'd overnight in Poi Pet.
