Queen Wood Hotel #75 St. 136
Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but has anyone had any experience with them? I paid a month in advance while I looked for a permanent residence and bought a desktop computer and set it up in my room. The management told me I couldn't use it because it used too much power (or as they put it "elecrical drain"). I told them that computers use less power than televisions (I had unplugged the TV to use the outlet. So they said it was "hotel policy" and that I would have to put it into storage. I reffused and vacated the premise (no refund, of course). WEIRD!s

I don't know that hotel specifically, but I'd like to think I would have told them "Go fuck yourself" or "Give me a refund and I'll leave." Or "how much extra electricity do you think this will use, here's ten bucks that should cover it."
The tripadvisor reviews of the place are pretty terrible by the way

I did use quite a few expletives as I made my way out the door. I did ask for a refund, but........
I don't know the place, but if it's cheap and on the bar end of street 136 then it's probably a short-time hotel, not interested in tourists or long-term guests.

Stayed in the place for one night about 10 years ago. Wanted to book a place with a swimming pool. Turned out it was a wading pool on the top floor. Add to that the mind numbing level of revelry coming from the gay bar across the street 'till the wee hours.
Freedom is not a state. It is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau.. Freedom is a continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.-John Lewis
How much was their monthly rate? Sometimes when hotels do monthly rentals, they will charge extra for electricity, but this hotel might not be set up for that (I don't know that particular hotel). I guess you could have negotiated something.
Your "computers use less power than televisions" comeback doesn't make much sense to me, but then again I don't know your computer and what you use it for - maybe they were scared that you use their "free" electricity to mine bitcoin or their WiFi to download tons of p0rn.

My friend stayed there about six years ago. There was a hole in the bathroom wall and a rat was living in there.
They didnt charge him extra for the raf.
