Trying to get a better sense of lifestyle and tech opportunities in Cambodia, I was reading up on tech startups in the kingdom, and curious if anyone actually uses these services? (A link to the article I read is at the bottom of this post)
1) MealTemple
2) Grocery Delivery Asia
3) Nham24
4) Delishop.Asia
5) BookMeBus
Is internet connectivity sufficient to make these services effective, and are they widely used?

Personally I have never used any of those services listed. Most people that I know do not use them.
Mostly people just phone the restaurant directly for the food related ones.
I would not use the grocery delivery ones. Part because I would not trust them, partly because I have a good market 2 minutes around the corner from my house.
And I never even heard of the last one.
These days Internet connectivity is not an issue.
Mind you, all that said, the only service I have used very very occasionally is PassAp for ordering a Tuk Tuk - although that is about twice a year.
Of course, I am an old grumpy bastard and am probably not the target market for these kinds of services

Appreciate you letting me know about PassAp. Will give that a try when I visit. Always enjoy Tuk Tuks in Thailand (kind of), and it will be interesting to compare the experience, and order via mobile.
I imagine a reason a lot of people from the west move to Cambodia and other developing countries is for the more simple, laid back lifestyle they offer.
When life isn't crazy busy and packed with tasks as it might be back home, the "conveniences" that tech and apps offer just aren't as important. This seems to mean that there might not be many opportunities for tech start-ups in the country, at least for now.
Maybe all the development in Sihanoukville will change that, if it ever comes to pass.

Bookmebus is actually pretty good as an aggregator of various bus companies
Pipay is not bad iirc
Passap is great to determine how much a ride should cost
Never used the meal apps, just not good enough.

Yeah, grocery delivery apps. has so far been mostly good for the vendors, to rid the shelves of expired items. Even going to the supermarket yourself can be a challenge sometimes. Taxi apps are great for the customer, but unpopular with the mafia. Payment apps, they are everywhere in China, even beggars have gone cashless some places. As for restaurants, I still prefer places where you can see the meal being prepared. Here, as everywhere else.
