I read the entire Driver's license thread. Saw "Phnom Penh only". But, as I'm in PP now, but bike and registration card is other side of the country, I thought I'd ask.
Can moto over 125cc drivers tests only be done in PP? Has anyone ever tried in the provinces?
Do they supply the bike you must test on? (Like with the car license.)
With the car test, people said it often takes more than 1 attempt. With motorbikes?
Change of Registration
I didn't buy the bike from original owner named on registration card, can an agent get it changed with me, and the bike, still out in the provinces? Anyone make a guess on the cost?
How often in Phnom Penh are riders now asked for these two documents, driver's licence and registration? In the Provinces?
Moto over 125cc test and name change on vehicle registration
PP only and BYO bike only, iirc.
Register a used (previously registered) bike into a foreign name: Cannot.
Register a new (or never previously registered used bike, like an imoort) bike into foreigners name: Can.

Thanks for the info. But annoying to hear.
Can I sell my bike to my Cambodian wife and she get's it re-registered in her name? Then I ride it as family? Or aren't families in Cambodia allowed to have a family bike or car?

You can rent a bike over 125cc there, $5 for the practice and test.
I saw several people also ask other examinees if they could use their bikes, it's only a 2-minute driving test, avoiding traffic cones

The registered owner needs to be there to transfer over.Guest999 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 9:16 pmThanks for the info. But annoying to hear.

They provide a bike, free of charge. Two minute test, you get one practice round. It’s just driving around a few cones, very easy. I would recommend using their bike and not a big bike of cafe racer you might have, as the cones are a bit tight.
Need to pass the written first. There’s an ap you can download and practice with, called Driving Rules 2. You’ll need to review as some of the questions/answers defy any logic.
