Where would you recommend to buy a family size gas barbecue grill?
I've tried looking online and the prices surprised me a little. They seem to be around 50%+ more expensive than what they cost in UK.
I would have hoped to pick up one for around $300 but it seems that is the price point for the cheaper charcoal barbecues.

Yes, they are very expensive here.
Home-Fix and Home-Top Market (both on MTT Blvd) sometimes stock them, but at about $800 probably more than you're willing to spend.
Global House had one, for about $500.
Or you can check out BSG Corporation on Farcebook, they have a couple models available.
But honestly, you cant beat bbq'ing with charcoal, and you can get yourself a local fabricated charcoal bbq for peanuts on st.163 and elsewhere.

I agree get a charcoal bbq even if you are looking for an oven replacement bought one at the Japanese home centre Cambodia for under $80. and they even deliver. They work great for anything you can cook in an oven like casseroles or bread by using the indirect heat cooking method. I make bread and put it in a japanese clay pot with lid , called a donabe, I buy them at the japanese second hand store for a $5.

Smoking meats with coconut husk that have been dried and cured for a couple of months then soaked in water before put on coals. The flavor is a bit hard to describe, light sweet nutty and smokey. Also green corn husks are supposed to work great also.

UPDATE
home top had a couple, big brutes of things with prices tags to match. Had both charcoal and gas,
Home fix had maybe 6-8 options in a variety of sizes, both charcoal and gas ranging from maybe 200-400. Would recommend this place for barbecues and accessories.

Yea Home-Fix definitely has the best range of bbq's and accessories, got one of the larger Char-Broil charcoal bbq's from there a couple years ago and it's still going strong, gets used almost daily when I'm home - I cook everything in/on it, barely bother with the indoor kitchen.
Considering getting the Blackstone grill to add to the outdoor "kitchen" when I'm home.
Home-Fix have some great specials around holiday times.
Got an Ugly Drum Smoker also, which was made by a guy up in Siem Reap, bloody excellent piece of kit for smoking.

I actually Amazoned one of these to Hanoi when I lived there as we were not allowed to have gas on site . Cost me a fortune and it was my first experience with an electric grill. It wasa bloody excellent. Especially with slow cooking chicken which came out moist . Yeah Yeah you cna rabbit on about charcoal and wood etc and they all have their applications but for apartment living, no fuel needed, no flare ups etc.....this could not be beat,

Rated R for Ricecakes
Quick update, Home-Fix just recently got Oklahoma Joe reverse flow offset smokers in stock, they also have a Masterbuilt pellet smoker if that's your thing, no pellets though. A few gas, gas/charcoal combo bbq's, and kettle style bbq's also. They have bags of mesquite wood chunks and wood chips, as well as plenty of cherry wood compressed sawdust which you have to soak before using.
Here's just a few pics I took today, there's about 10 more bbq's in stock which I didn't take pics of. Prices are expensive which is to be expected as most of them are imported from the US.

Those things are fantastic for bbq'ing a steak or kebab or two, I've got a couple for just that purpose, but they're useless when it comes to feeding the whole tribe (unless you're happy to drip feed them), or when you're hungering for that real low n slow smokey goodnesswrf 2.0 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 3:52 am$3 which means I have $826 left to buy meat
I won't get to wave my dick around while desperately trying to impress acquaintances, and that really, really hurts me.
It's about good food, and having an enjoyable time, nothing to do with status (waving your dick around)...I'm probably one of the most anti-social pricks on this forum and couldn't give a fuck what people think about me, but I love a good bbq.

Don't worry, 95% friendly and helpful and when people behave stupid, they get a clear kick on the ass. Nothing wrong with that......
