Hello,
Our last visit was March/April 2018, and the family house had no power from 9am untill 4pm, and No Water. I moved into a hotel with power 24/7 But no water, well it did dribble.
Has Cambodia sorted it out? any issues this year?
I was thinking if C-19 hit at that time it would be bad. A terrible trifecta.
Is Phnom Penh Powered and Watered?
Is this a joke? In nearly 15 years I've never been without electricity for more than an hour, and that was due to road & drainage improvements needed, not incompetence.
Where did you live, the rubbish tip?

March/April 2018 were the months of long power cuts due to dried up water reservoirs resulting in electricity shortages. I remember hours long power cuts in Daun Penh, they were even longer and more frequent in outlying districts. Never had continuous water shortage though.

Power cuts at that time were scheduled and alternated morning and afternoons.
You were either out in mornings or afternoons. It's was never anything like 9-4
It was 7-12 and 12-5

Yes.
9-4 it was out solid some days during those hours.
Other days on and off during that time.

Yeah, we live out that way and it's still a pain in the ass. Never since been as bad as that time, but it just takes a dry spell to hype up to intolerable. These days power cuts might be a couple of hours two or three times a week. Water not much of a problem currently. We live in an area of million-dollar villas - the rich don't get cut any slack out here

If that was the case then those days were exceptions. I lived in that area at the time and was able to work around it easily. Office and home were on different schedules.
Your water was likely ‘off’ because your water pump was powered by electricity. Most likely just very low pressure.
I don’t remember water ever being off for a prolonged period like you say,

I’m calling bullshit on that, power cuts are not that frequent or prolonged.Guest wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 12:41 pmYeah, we live out that way and it's still a pain in the ass. The infrastructure here has improved so much in the past 15 years. But still people want to exaggerate and suggest they are living in some impoverished mess,
Power cuts are two or three a month and lasting for minutes not for hours. If it’s more than that then move house,
The last one I had was Sunday for about 5 minutes - I remember as the football was about to start, the one before that was during the massive storm a few weeks ago and I was out for about 4 hours, but that was an exception - I guessed some infrastructure got hit by lightning.
What??? Do you even live here???the rich don't get cut any slack out here

We have been getting 3 or 4 hour power outages Russian Blvd. Teuk Thla twice a week for the past 2 or 3 weeks....usually in the morning.....And about a dozen 10 minute outages...
