It costs around $2000/eye. Google Thai or Singapore eye clinics

Just to compare prices for you: I had my eyes corrected in Germany for about 5000 Euro.
I had myopia about -6 and astigmatism about -2.5. I also had the more expensive operation, the ICL. This is actually a lense they implant, they don't laser anything. It should last my whole life (3 years now). I have good night vision and if my eyes should change again, theoretically one's able to undo this operation or change the lense. The op itself took maybe half an hour with two days after the operation not seeing well. At the 3rd day I was back at work.
I never regretted it a second! Feel free to ask for more information!

Would you have such a procedure done in Cambodia?SmokinHotElephant wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 9:18 amI never regretted it a second! Feel free to ask for more information!

I believe it is a minor operation and they could probably do it very well. But for me, personally, eye sight isn't something I want to take risks.
As it is probably a one time operation, I rather spend a little more than regretting anything.
Also, what I think is also good, is totally understanding the process, what the doctors are telling. I speak Khmer, but not well enough to understand doctors well. That might be the main reason, why I wouldn't do it here. I want to understand what's happening.

Obviously someone very out-of-touch with the current situation.
There are good eye clinics here, they have plenty of experience - for example cataract operations are very common due to the strong UV rays.

This may come as a shock to you, oh great one and supreme know-it-all, but people who have
eye surgery generally take months deciding on where and when to have it done.
Thanks for the welcome, I'm sure your subtle marketing skills are appreciated by the owners.
A cataract op is a piece of cake and old hat in terms of skills required. Lasik, not so much.
But you would know that if you had Googled it. I think you're the poster who's out of touch.
Do ignorant put-downs make you feel better?

Another tedious "guest" with useless advice who was probably banned numerous times for being a prick.

Why does one need to be 'careful? Some peeps used to bang on about being careful with dentistry in Cambodia too yet I never had a problem.bargain basement wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 8:16 amIt costs around $2000/eye. Google Thai or Singapore eye clinics

People telling me to be careful has never had any impact my entire life. It seems like such redundant advice.Dylan Quint wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 1:14 pmWhy does one need to be 'careful? My eyes are crap. Bean wearing thick milk bottle glasses since 8yo now in my 50s I need reading glasses too and bi focals aren’t an option because of the thickness of my lenses. They’re fooking expensive as they are the super super thin ones and they don’t do them in Cambodia.
They’re a pain in especially doing any close work in the heat as they slide off and/or get steamed up.
But I would never get my eyes sliced or lasered. Never!
