Best domestic-use gas cooker / oven
Best domestic-use gas cooker / oven
Supplies, brands and prices, please. Budget $600 max.
The oven is the essential thing, no need for cooker rings, 2 max.
Would prefer to hear from someone who has one already
Pizzas, roasts, cake, breads are the goal
Thank you, wonderful people

Not possible to bake good bread, cakes or get a crisp skin on a pork roast with a gas oven. The reason is the gas burnt creates a wet heat in the oven whereas a dry heat is needed.
Do more research before you buy one or you will be very disappointed with a off the self gas oven.

$600 max you're only real options are;
- Gas Toansamay (Modern Gas), or
- Singsung Cambodia, or
- 2nd Hand (good time to buy as a lot of foreigners leaving Cambodia at this time of year, check buy n sell groups on FB).
@cooker I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, definitely more difficult to achieve desired results if you have a gas oven without a thermostat (like most in Cambodia), but it is just a case of getting to know the oven, testing and adjusting.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
I've been trying to find and electric fan forced oven - but not had any luck to date.
There is the occasional commercial oven or convection micro wave oven on the FB buy and sell site
that is worth looking at. But it all comes down to the price you want to pay.

I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Electrolux Cambodia have a freestanding electric fan forced oven with 4 burner gas stovetop for about $800, or a built-in model, without stove top, for $600-700.
Theres also several stores along Mao Tse Toung, most are on the pricier side though, like Home Living which has a beautiful Smeg oven for about $6000.

Alternatively you may want to consider this new beauty which works wonders and costs about 10% of your budget. It's available in Cambodia, too.

I have one that I bought locally, paid $49 for, it's very good, but not sure if one can make bread or bake with it.Joetheplumber wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:27 pmAlternatively you may want to consider this new beauty which works wonders and costs about 10% of your budget. I have that Air Fryer but it is the Electronic touch screen model , without the manual knobs. They do a good job and the only advice I can give is, buy the biggest size you can.
