Yes, different name, different date of birth, different place of birth
And the fingerprint device at BKK immigration? Wouldn't it show my histories of ins/outs under this blue Asian passport instead of my red EU one?
A person can legally change their name. Not likely to be legally changing their date and place of birth also. The docs may be genuine but they are not his docs
I dunno, if it’s Cambodia then place of birth and DOB is information included almost as an afterthought and with little care. The number of folks I know whose ID card has this info registered incorrectly is remarkable.
You being devil’s advocate?
He’s German isn’t he? What happens in Cambodia doesn’t happen in Germany.
I’ll let you have the last word if you have another point to counter me
I’m not playing devils advocate. I have little sympathy for him.
But it is entirely possible for someone to legally gain a second nationality in Cambodia - and I assume other countries.
This can be done legally, or semi legally in the grey market. These ID documents will be his and legitimate and any action he takes using these documents, like marriage, buying land etc is real & legal.
Unless the second country withdraws the privilege - which I don’t know is legal - but I suspect they won’t care.
I don’t think he has done a Jason Bourne and edited someone else’s ID card using a razor blade, a candle and some sticky plastic. He has likely paid, probably someone in government, for authentic docs. I’m sure they suspected he was dodgy at the time due to the situation and didn’t care. Because of the lots and lots of $$$.
This debate started because you said his marriage (in Asia) wasn’t legal. I think it is.
