Alexandra, I wanted to write a private message but as I just signed up, I can't send any PM. Any chance of contacting privately? Just want something corrected and removed as my lawyer advised me to not disclose it for trial defense tactical reasons. Thank you.
An unusual matter
Flying home on Thursday.

It doesn't work like that. It's on record now.ptr.aut wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:29 pmFlying home on Thursday.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
That's fine. Thanks. Nothing dramatic. Just the part about the 3K Euros fine which my lawyer plans to appeal because of it being disproportionately high despite so much time having passed.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:11 amIt doesn't work like that. May I ask this rather sensitive question before flying back to Frankfurt on Thursday.
What happens to the marriage under my Asian passport now that I recovered my original identity? Am I, essentially and legally, single again? I was single in 2001 when I left Europe.

Does your home country allow dual nationality?ptr.aut. wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 9:29 amMay I ask this rather sensitive question before flying back to Frankfurt on Thursday.

Unless it doesn’t then I can’t see any issues, you said Asian ID docs are all legit.
Going forward you will have (legal) passports and docs from 2 different countries.
Why would you think that you’d be single now?

Isn’t one of them under a fake identity (at least not his legal identity)? In which case the marriage was never legal - was it?ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 10:48 amDoes your home country allow dual nationality?ptr.aut. wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 9:29 amMay I ask this rather sensitive question before flying back to Frankfurt on Thursday.

Unless he legally obtained Citizenship and changed his name in the country of which he managed to score himself a passport/ID docs, then his passport/ID docs are not legitimate, and neither is his marriage.

In his first post he says the documents are genuine and were at great expense.violet wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:25 pmIsn’t one of them under a fake identity (at least not his legal identity)? So if the docs are genuine and recognised in the country of marriage then his marriage is also genuine.
Many people here who get citizenship legally or otherwise assume a different name on Khmer docs. I don’t think it matters that the name on docs is different to his ‘real name’.

His OP says that he has genuine docs and passport in the second country. If these docs are legit then marriage is valid.

We’ll need his clarification. He did write the below in first comment but later said the date of birth doesn’t match his other passport - that to me sounds like duplicated identity papers of another person
“In 2008 I obtained a birth certificate, passport and identity card from a country within the South Asia, South East Asia range of countries at immense cost to me. I will leave it at that. The documents are gen”

He says that the docs are genuine, but unless he legally obtained citizenship & legally changed his name to the name on all those docs, including the marriage registration, then how are they legitimate? The story reads to me that he purchased documents illegally, so whilst they may be "genuine" docs, if he has obtained them fraudulently, then they are not actually genuine are they. Just my basic assessment of the situation based on what I read.

A person can legally change their name. Not likely to be legally changing their date and place of birth also. The docs may be genuine but they are not his docsptr.aut wrote: ↑Sun Sep 04, 2022 10:11 pmYes, different name, different date of birth, different place of birth
And the fingerprint device at BKK immigration? Wouldn't it show my histories of ins/outs under this blue Asian passport instead of my red EU one?

I’m just comparing it to the folks I know who have bought Khmer citizenship. If he did the same as them then they are genuine. Yeah, not ‘legal’ (what is 100% legal here?) but surely genuine.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 2:17 pmHe says that the docs are genuine, but unless he legally obtained citizenship & legally changed his name to the name on all those docs, including the marriage registration, then how are they legitimate? I dunno, if it’s Cambodia then place of birth and DOB is information included almost as an afterthought and with little care. The number of folks I know whose ID card has this info registered incorrectly is remarkable.violet wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 2:30 pmA person can legally change their name.
