Greetings all.
My situation:
Have lived in Cambodia for 9 years
Legally married for 7
Late 40's, American
Independantly financially stable (transfer funds from US when needed)
Property owner in Cambodia
Since the Work Permit requirements came into force 4 or 5 years ago my agent has always given me a year EB ext through marriage. Copies certificate and IDs were sent to DoI and there was never a problem.
This year, the same agent has informed me that the law has now changed (have seen no notifications on this), and a WP is needed. However I do not work, nor do I intend to work in Cambodia, so cannot get the WP, even if I could, i would need a visa, which cannot get without the WP. Very Catch-22.
With no 'spouse visa' like most other countries have, do I have any options other than leave or somehow 'find' myself a WP, which I guess will be subject to extra costs in the forms of fines for not having one (when it wasn't needed)?
All advice appreciated.
Visa help
Call Kim can still facilitate the EB EOS based on Cambodian Marriage to a Cambodian Citizen without needing WP.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
