What did any sensible person expect?
She's a self-serving bimbo with zero knowledge of economics

The vast majority of people expected just this, evidenced by the fact that she is PM only because 80,000 Tory party members believed she was the Johnson continuity candidate.tweedledee2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 6:07 amWhat did any sensible person expect?

The fact is sensible Tories are no longer tolerable to Tory members - they were culled from the Johnson cabinet for not being Brexiteers and by the local Tory parties for not being Johnsonites. What is left is a dwindling talent pool of brain dead chumps like Kwarteng, and swivel-headed opportunists like Truss who have no principles and will change direction at the drop of a hat.
The end result - the Tories will be out of power for the next generation. And it is all their own doing. When you abandon your core principles you deserve to be cast aside.

She has to be the worst public speaker of any PM I have ever seen. She inspires no confidence at all. She probably isn’t, but she often comes across as really, really dim.
Boris for all his faults, which were many, behind his buffoonery actually seemed to have some residual intelligence.
It’s almost like Boris was a smart PM pretending to be stupid and Truss is a stupid PM pretending to be smart.

Julia Gilliard the Oz PM was similar in as much as she was stupid and sounded it.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
Solid observation. Add to this the recent news from the Labour conference how Starmer has stated “We’re in the centre” has just alienated all of the communists, ahem sorry, socialists on the left of that party also. So, won’t be going back to the UK for a bit.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 2:20 pmThe vast majority of people expected just this, evidenced by the fact that she is PM only because 80,000 Tory party members believed she was the Johnson continuity candidate.tweedledee2 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 6:07 amWhat did any sensible person expect?

Starmer has done exactly the right thing in ignoring the doctrinaire left which have made Labour unelectable for over a decade. Labour has only ever succeeded when it has pivoted to the centre.Spigzy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 04, 2022 5:38 pmSolid observation. I am a conservative by principle, philosophy and personality. I will be voting for Labour next time because candidly they are the closest party right now to my vote beliefs - fiscally sensible yet decent and fair minded. The new Tory Party is now much closer to a UKIP / Britain First nationalist party, evidenced by support of people like Fred Edwards now.

Not only is Ms. Trust unable to define a woman,
He/she/it is dumb and dangerous...Truss said she was “ready” to hit the nuclear button if needed and that it was an “important part of being prime minister”, even though it would mean “global annihilation”.
Can we find a way to get her into Kim's harem in NK?Hot_Pink_Urinal_Mint wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 12:22 amNot only is Ms. Trust unable to define a woman,He/she/it is dumb and dangerous...Truss said she was “ready” to hit the nuclear button if needed and that it was an “important part of being prime minister”, even though it would mean “global annihilation”.
They deserve each other.

In fairness any leader of any country with a nuclear capability has to say that. What else could she say - she has them but would never be prepared to use them?
Doesn't look like Truss will have much of a tenure as PM, with some pundits saying she won't even last the week. I wouldn't think things happen that fast though she sacked the Treasurer overnight, obliquely blaming him for this tax cuts mess.
Does anybody know anybody who actually likes Liz Truss? It seems like everybody hates her.
