"Not my circus, not my monkeys" - KiR
That title surely goes to whoever creates the birth certificates for the Nigerian youth teams
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Pele was not even the best Brazilian of his generation.
None but ourselves can free our mind.
People from countries who can’t win the World Cup are not allowed to discuss football. Please fuck off to the ‘who makes the best clogs?’ thread.
Annoying isn't it? Being called out on your received opinion.
None but ourselves can free our mind.
For what he did at Napoli, Maradona for me is by far the best footballer of all time.
Pele? Superb- only played in Brazil, never tested in Europe. Surrounded by astounding generation of countrymen.
Messi? Genetically modified dwarf, superb nonetheless- probably the most skillful player of all time; only ever played for an already fantastic Barcelona side & disappeared for Argentina when it mattered.
Ronaldo?- my personal favourite player of all time. He’ll be breaking records into his 40s. Has done it in every major European league, dragged Portugal to matches they shouldn’t have even got to. Was more inspirational on the sidelines when injured than the national coach.
Maradona. Single handedly took Napoli from relegation fodder to Serie A champions when there were defenders the likes of Baresi & chums were about & lumps could be kicked out you on pitches that were worse than modern day school pitches. When Argentina needed him most, he turned up and put his hand up to be counted- quite literally. Add the “rogue” side off the pitch, just a guy who brought entertainment to football on & off the pitch. Even Americans probably know his name, that’s how good he was. Especially when he sang Like a Virgin. The sod. RIP.

Meum est propositum in taberna mori,
ut sint Guinness proxima morientis ori.
tunc cantabunt letius angelorum chori:
"Sit Deus propitius huic potatori."

England can’t win it though.
pew, pew, pew, pew!
Once was enough YTP. As an Englishman, it is our birthright to define ourselves by past glories, while lamenting the present and being fearful of the future.
