Spiritual but not religious. Too many people out there using it aggresively to hurt others.

I'm sure that if social-liberalism and collectivism were counted as religions the graph would even out.

I guess I really am the resident nutter then...according to you illustrious posters. Wait. Never mind.

Why are the gods such vicious cunts?
Where is the god of tits and wine?

Considering your religion, that would be the answer:Felgerkarb wrote:I guess I really am the resident nutter then...according to you illustrious posters. Wait. Never mind.
Little a sand-grain,
little a dew drop,
Little the minds of men:
religion is as much use as sieve to bail out a sinking boat

The chicken or the egg?..Certain religious groups would be better served by working to create a better life instead of praying for it.Londo wrote:Is there a direct correlation between poverty and the need for spiritual comfort?

I'm extremely religious. I couldn't survive here without my visits to various ceremonies and shrines. I am currently on my knees asking a local tree spirit for the numbers in the Vietnamese lottery. It doesn't get more holy than that .
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
...Meh. Dad is a born-again Christian who grew up Polish Catholic. My ma is basically an atheist.
If I did believe in things, it'd be a Buddhist/Wiccan/Pagan type set of beliefs.

When someone says they're an atheist, does that mean they think nothing higher than themselves exists in the world or the universe? And the only purpose of life is to be born, eat, shit, breed, consume and then die? If so, you are only seeing the very tip of the iceberg IMHO.
Don't mention the Giant Panda in the room.

That is odd logic. You either believe in those things or you don't. Saying you don't believe in spiritual things but - if you did - it would be one of those suggests you either believe in them, or you simply want to pick one of the trendy ones. Which is it?Nirvana wrote:...Meh. Dad is a born-again Christian who grew up Polish Catholic. My ma is basically an atheist.

No. Atheists are realists, god worshipers are dreamers.Marvin wrote:When someone says they're an atheist, does that mean they think nothing higher than themselves exists in the world or the universe? A curious omission. Perhaps it would skew their studies slant a little. Or maybe not. It's not the 1970s any longer.YaTingPom wrote:Throw Ireland into the mix...
