Anti-semitism in the British Labour Party
Noise around inherent anti-semitism on the left wing of the Labour Party is growing.
Yesterday, a Labour MP was suspended from the party for comments made on twitter, and just today old Labour institution Ken Livingston was suspended after making comments in a radio interview that Hitler was a zionist.
Rather hilariously, a protester stuck an Israeli flag on Livingstone's door:

Isn't this what he actually said though when sticking up for fellow Labour MP Naz Shah ;
''However, Shah was forced to resign from that position after a Facebook post from her in 2014 was unearthed and made public by the right-wing Guido Fawkes blog. In the post titled “Solution for Israel-Palestine Conflict — Relocate Israel into United States,” Shah suggests that Israeli Jews should be relocated to the United States so that Palestinians could "get their life and their land back."
Shah was also soon found to have made other posts around this time comparing Israeli policies to those of Hitler. In an initial statement published just hours after the discovery of the first Facebook posts on Tuesday, Shah said that she apologized "unreservedly" for the posts, which were made "when emotions were running high around the Middle East conflict."
''In a BBC Radio London interview on Thursday, Ken Livingstone, the well-known former London mayor and member of Labour's National Executive Council, defended Shah, arguing that criticizing Israel wasn't the same as anti-Semitism. Livingstone went on to say: "When Hitler won his election in 1932, his policy then was that Jews should be moved to Israel. He was supporting Zionism before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews."
Definition of Zionism : ''A religious variety of Zionism supports Jews upholding their Jewish identity defined as adherence to religious Judaism, opposes the assimilation of Jews into other societies, and has advocated the return of Jews to Israel as a means for Jews to be a majority nation in their own state''
Zionist sections of Israel (who some think stole the land) vs a Zionist Hitler. Is Ken Livingstone actually saying there is not much of a difference between the two...(before the bit where he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews)?

The Labour Party is so rife with anti-Semitism that it appointed a Jew as its last leader. In that leadership campaign, the narrowly-defeated second place candidate was also a Jew. As usual, the well-oiled Zionist tactic of labelling anyone that criticises Israel's egregious security policies as anti-Semitic comes to the fore. Neither the comments by Livingstone or Shah are anti-Semitic.

Hitler was in touch with some Zionists and supported their aims.

NJD, please stop quoting facts that obviously contradict claims.NO JOKE DAVE wrote:The Labour Party is so rife with anti-Semitism that it appointed a Jew as its last leader. If you're going to post about what he actually said it would be fairer to post the transcript of his entire career ending rant. I'm on my phone but it's easy to find.
One of the things he said was 'anti-semitism is not racism.' Frankly that should not only get him chucked out of the Party forever but it should be sent to the Police to investigate as potentially hate speech.
This is not the first time he has said similar things. A few years ago he abused a Jewish reporter by calling him a concentration camp guard, he has likened Israel to nazis on numerous occasions and once commented that Jewish voters are rich so they won't vote labour anyway.
This is a guy who is on the Labour Party National Executive Committee by the way.

Well, technically it's not, but I get your drift. Anti-Semitism has taken on a worrying form in recent years, given that Muslims seem to be the most fervent ones.scobienz wrote: One of the things he said was 'anti-semitism is not racism.'

And where is the anti-Semitism in that?scobienz wrote:

You're right. There is absolutely nothing bigoted about any of that.NO JOKE DAVE wrote:And where is the anti-Semitism in that?scobienz wrote:

What it displays is a certain derogatory attitude about Jews on the far left that can't be ignored, unless of course you're Jeremy Corbyn who - understandably - is insisting there is no issue at all. Thankfully, the majority of his backbenchers, and even members of the shadow cabinet don't agree and are calling this a huge issue which needs to be dealt with immediately.

It does nothing of the sort. The reason the Israeli regime is compared to the Nazi regime is because the behaviour of the former is very reminiscent of that of the latter during the 1930s. There is a solid anti-Israel attitude within the party but that is based on the state's ultra-hawkish nationalism/fascism and the apartheid conditions it has imposed on illegally occupied lands - it is not simply because they are Jews, despite what The Spectator would try and have you believe.

Only the left, by default, doesn't hate anyone who is financially successful.

NJD, you'll need to get that in a VERY large font (comic sans raison 250) and tattooed on his forehead for it to sink in with a certain poster.NO JOKE DAVE wrote:Only the left, by default, doesn't hate anyone who is financially successful.
Even then, selective speech would kick in...the mantra must be used to stifle even thinking about the elephant in the room:
God, you mean there are some rich people who are nasty? Impossible!

Has anyone mentioned the Labour Party is in tatters and needs the Muslim vote?
