Russians were warned about it before hand. Not Moscow but soldiers stationed around those bases.
I think any US President would have done this. Assad was testing us because he thought we wouldn't do shit because of his Russian protection.
Guess now he knows- Don't use chemical weapons.

Hold on. Don't the Russians support Assad? And isn't Russia supposed to be controlling Trump like a puppet? But now Trump is ordering strikes against Assad? Does this mean Trump isn't Russia's puppet?
What does the left think of these strikes in light of yesterday's outrage over the chemical attacks? Will Trump be lambasted for doing this, simply because he's trump?
Genuine questions.

SP- You raise some good points. Ther are a couple obvious mega-threads going on currently on the front page of Reddit, if you ever browse or have heard of that website. Most of the users are left-wing liberals and tend to be in their teens to 20s but it is so populated that it does have a good mix of folks around the world. In both threads, I am reading a lot of "I hate Trump but I think this had to be done". A lot of people also said that any US president probably would have done this. When pictures/video of little Syrian kids dying horribly from Sarin gas get etched into your brain, you tend to not care so much about a few missiles hitting the airfield launching those chemical attacks.Starving Pelican wrote:Hold on. ^^This is the danger of weaponised propaganda. It can go both ways because of the power it has as shocking the mind into or out of something. Look how quickly Sept 11 got the U.S. into Iraq, and then look at history. Invasion of Kuwait, Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, etc etc.
As I've posted in other threads, this whole thing stink to high heaven of false flag. This is the THIRD time media is using the sensationalised story that "Assad gassed his own people" story, and it makes just as little sense now as it did the first time.

What about videos of small kids dying from the gas attacks? That is hard to fake.

^^I'm not saying it's fake, I'm saying it's disproportionately sensationalised to steer good people towards an evil cause.
Btw, over 17,000 children have been killed since the start of the Syrian revolution.

What is unusual is how rapid the response wasDetroitMuscle wrote:...I think any US President would have done this...
Was it him that actually used them or made out to look like it, and does this mean IS will now get the same treatment when they kill civilians in barbaric fashion?Guess now he knows- Don't use chemical weapons.

1- The response was all about chemicals being bombed onto civillians. Waiting a day or two before destroying the airbases those horrific attacks were being launched from is rapid? Should Trump have waited a few weeks then attacked? That makes sense.kinard wrote:What is unusual is how rapid the response wasDetroitMuscle wrote:...I think any US President would have done this...

2- Was it Assad who uses chemical attacks? He has done it before while Obama was president.
2.5- Is ISIS 1 man who is the dictator of a country? Does ISIS use chemicals as a weapon?

1. Yes, it was a rapid response.
2. It transpired to be a rebel chemical attack, iirc.
2.5-Ok, you got me there
