I suspect the answer is that we have the unpredictable, woefully under-informed Trump as President and that makes nuclear war more likely. The North Koreans have been doing this for decades. There is no danger for them. It is a well-run and well-understood diplomatic-Aid game. They rattle their sabres, the west threatens more sanctions. They back down, the west grants Aid relief.AE86 wrote:@Nirvana
I just want to ask (and this is a genuine question, not a snarky rhetorical question), why does the whole Trump train enrage you so much more something else like nuclear war which could end the lives of millions of people? While I tend to believe the "end of the world" scenario is exaggerated, the threats by Lil' Kim against South Korea, my country, and the U.S. could literally destroy people's lives in an instant. Something you could argue, is much more serious than grabbing a woman by the pussy and calling illegal Mexican's rapists.

Everyone gets this. But we now have an Administration which campaign (amongst other things, admittedly) on a US isolationist position desperate to create headlines other than those relating to tax returns, Russian connections, FBI investigations, Krushner's security clearance and $2m golfing trips.
