Sexual harassment accusation frenzy in the US
Sexual harassment accusation frenzy in the US
What started recently with Harvey Weinstein has now taken down or at least severely embarrassed multiple famous and powerful men, including 1 current US Senator, 1 wannabe Senator, a former President (surprisingly not serial creep Bill Clinton), Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes of Fox News, director Brett Ratner (who was absolutely skewered in a published article by actress Ellen Page), actor Kevin Spacey, and now longtime TV interviewer and talk show host Charlie Rose. Far from slowing down, it seems there will be many, many, more allegations to come and at a faster pace. More big names surely to follow.
Yet Trump survived his similar allegations (and recorded audio) during a Presidential campaign relatively unscathed, as did supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in televised hearings 25 years ago. The successful strategy seems to be deny deny deny, and then harshly attack the integrity of your accusers. But it's a different world now. What's changed is how quick organizations now are to cut all ties with the accused. This is getting ugly. Who's next?
Reap what you sow.

How about David Ducovny? I hope not, but he’s been going to sex addict therapy for years, so something sparked that.
I really hope Ted Cruz gets nailed (no pun intended).

https://newrepublic.com/minutes/129294/ ... -dormitoryA naked Ted Cruz was once allegedly locked out of his Princeton dormitory.
Jezebel’s Ellie Shechet has a fantastic story about Cruz’s college classmates and how they felt about him. There are a lot of gems, quotes like: “I was stunned that he would be the one that ended up [running for] president out of our class because he’s about as telegenic as an undertaker.” And also: “There are not that many people in my life who I can think of who I didn’t actually have extensive interactions with who bring up such bad feelings.” But the undisputed highlight is this anecdote:
In naked but non-sexual news, multiple classmates who asked for anonymity recounted Cruz participating in the “Nude Olympics,” a (now defunct) Princeton tradition in which members of the sophomore class got drunk and ran around campus sans clothing during the first snow of the year. According to several classmates, none of whom were firsthand witnesses, Cruz was said to have run the wrong way and was later seen naked and banging against the window of a locked dorm in an attempt to gain entrance.
I love bitches n gonna fuck Texas and the USA+ right up their god damn ass! Hallelujah!
Since when did someone running around naked with others = sexual harassment in his blood? Why would they?

I imagine that is what anyone would do if locked out of their residence buck naked as a stupid fraternity prank. Not a whole lot of options there.batshitcrazyweirdo wrote:I guess since he went the wrong way and started knocking on dorm windows naked. I forgot to include comedian Louis CK.
While not an accused, comedian Chris Rock was recently booed on stage (quite rare for him) and severely criticized after for joking about sexual harassment in general and commenting that some accusations could be all about money. Those jokes have been in his stand-up act for over two decades. I won't be surprised if HBO publicly cuts ties with him too, as they have had the exclusive rights to broadcast all his stand up comedy specials for 20 years. Can't even remotely joke about sexual harassment anymore.
Here is Chris Rock from 1996 on sexual harassment (at the 2:30 mark). Not sure if this video plays outside the US.

High profile movie directors/producers are definitely on the hit list and probably rightly so. The ol' casting couch and all that. Mega-creeps Woody Allen and Roman Polanski would be shamed out of the industry in this environment. Long overdue. Next up will probably be high profile corporate CEOs. But it's always nice to see wanker US politicians being taken down hard.Gin&Tonic wrote:Oliver Stone is next on the hit list
It's not like George Takei has much of a career to lose at this point. And he "shrugged off" his accuser with insane claims that "Russia did it" to him (i.e. Russian fake news bots targeted him specifically for his being vocally anti-Trump).Gin&Tonic wrote:George Takei managed to shrug off the accusations.
