We'll see. Trump sure didn't lead from the front, but at least for once he kept his mouth shut for a few crucial hours. That in itself is a victory of sorts, but not a significant agenda victory any way you look at it. They only agreed to keep the government funded for another 3 weeks. Zero progress made on several key points of disagreement (immigration/DACA/border wall). Back to square one, really.Visser wrote:Aaaand the Dems caved after three days, Trump played this very well wouldn't you agree?
Trump re-elected

By cancelling the (illegal*) DACA executive order he has some leverage over the Dems as he can now deport these illegal aliens at will so to speak.Edwardo wrote:We'll see. The question is if the Dems are willing to give up the current immigration system for an Australian one based on merit and without almost unlimited chain migration for a limited amnesty for Dreamers. And with sentiments as they are at the moment I'd put my money on yes.
* According to the man who did it anyway:
The outrage on the left about illegal immigrants and the wall is so completely laughable, not like he is saying anything different from Clinton or Obama, who also built stretches of border fences/walls.
Funny thing is Trump has deported less people last year then Obama

I don't know of a single administration that hasn't done business with the Saudis, way worse than Iraq, Syria or Turkey. Saudi was granted a seat on the Women's Rights Commission in April 2017...Trump was in office. The US directly supplied Saudi and IS with weapons that were used to target Yemenis and civilians respectively. My point is that yes, 44 was responsible for shite, but your implication is that Trump is innocent, which even his dumbest family member knows is HS. And let's not even start on Hillary and Libya...or Bush in Iraq, the Shah of Iran..it goes on and on and onVisser wrote:Its a good thing President Trump came to power, 44 facilitated the rise of the genocidal IS regime and let them sell Iraqi and Syrian oil to the Turkish islamofascist regime.
Yeah, it had absolutely zero to do with the Russian airforce knocking the crap out of them for months. IS was funded, supplied and supported by the US (and Israel, many say) they only backed down when they couldn't openly show support for IS, so they stated that they were going to fix them. After the Syrians and Russia had screwed them. LOL, losers.Visser wrote:President Trump on the other hand gave his army the freedom to beat IS and after one year in power IS has lost 95% of its territory and is on the run on all fronts.
But...but general, we can locate one guy in Afghanisan within 1m2, but we can't find a convoy of 200 IS trucks on a main road in the Syrian desert in broad daylight.
Yeah, sounds legit.

Trump is a genius!
What would Trump have to do with the United Nations Women's Rights Commission selection committee? And like every other nonsense, useless, bureaucratic UN committee, those nominations and under consideration for many months or years in advance of actually granting seats.maven wrote:Saudi was granted a seat on the Women's Rights Commission in April 2017...Trump was in office.Visser wrote:Its a good thing President Trump came to power, 44 facilitated the rise of the genocidal IS regime and let them sell Iraqi and Syrian oil to the Turkish islamofascist regime.

Oh, I guess all the US arms they found were Chinese fakes, all the non-attacks were due to genuine inability to find long convoys in broad daylight, all the trainers were lying about their nationality. And all the attempts to sabotage attacks by the Syrian/Russian forces on IS were purely coincidental or fictitious.Edwardo wrote:No, they weren't. What else did Fox tell you?
Trump is a genius!
Administrations take responsibility for what happens in their tenure. Surely you understand that? If they disagree, there are these weird things called press conferences.Edwardo wrote:What would Trump have to do with the United Nations Women's Rights Commission selection committee? However, Trump may have been too busy sword-dancing with his camel-driving buddy to have given a press conference.

The US supplied the post-Saddam Iraqi Army with modern arms. Then their elected Prime Minister Maliki, a Shia, and heavily influenced by Iran, turned the screws on the Sunnis and radicalized the entire sunni held West of the country by cutting them all off from government services. The Sunnis were so desperate they turned their support to ISIS. Iran also insisted Maliki kick out the US military completely.maven wrote:Oh, I guess all the US arms they found were Chinese fakes,Edwardo wrote:No, they weren't. Then the genius Obama, Mr. Nobel Peace Prize winner, who called ISIS the "the JV team" of insurgents (which is an American expression for unimpressive or second-rate), agreed to Maliki's demand for full US military withdrawal and pulled all US forces from Iraq to also keep his campaign promise to "end the wars." (yet he also doubled down on the number of US troops in Afghanistan and kept the Guantanamo Bay prison open, despite his many promises to his voters).
Of course, Maliki's well-equipped army was a ghost army. Billions of dollars of high-tech US weapons and "soldiers" with no training and NO desire to fight or risk their lives in battle. When ISIS attacked from Syria (in Toyota pickup trucks for fuck's sake - they easily defeated Iraqi military tanks with guys in pickup trucks), the Iraqi army was completely and utterly routed on the battlefield, dropping and abandoning all their US-made weapons including many tanks, over 2300 humvees, and millions of firearms...not to mention hundreds of millions of dollars of US currency they took from the hastily abandoned Bank of Mosul. ISIS simply collected those abandoned weapons left lying all around.
But you know this. There was extensive video at the time of ISIS jihadis driving around in US vehicles. It was widely reported as it was happening. This video from RT News no less - not FOX news:
To now claim the US "gave weapons" to or support ISIS to support your idiotic revisionist history is the kind of bullshsit distortions one would expect the likes of Trump or Nirvana to say just to try to score debate points.

I never said that God Emperor Trump was innocent, just that his foreign policy is a lot better then 42-44's....maven wrote:I don't know of a single administration that hasn't done business with the Saudis, way worse than Iraq, Syria or Turkey. But how do you suppose he stopped Saudi getting a seat on the WRC? Not as if the USA has a veto there like they do in the security council....

Uh...people make recommendations...you don't think that it's a coincidence that EVERY NATO member voted for them in a SECRET vote?

It's becoming more and more clear every day that left wingers and socialists hate the truth even more than they hate black Americans, Native Americans, and women.
Speaking of Trump's State of the Union speech (going on right now), it's always fun to watch the opposing party looking pissed off and not clapping when a president says something like "we must all come together to do right for all our great citizens". Nancy Pelosi can't even clap for feel-good pablum like that? It's about as silly as Paul Ryan and Mike Pence looking like proud fathers behind Trump and giving a standing ovation every 12 seconds.
The whole spectacle of this annual speech is always so surreal. But I'm waiting for the Dems to start booing and walking out during the speech this year. You know they want to.

Both parties are scumbags, and you know that is his sales pitch, so why clap?
Tbh, I must admit, I am slowly coming to prefer Trump/ Republicans over Dems, and much of that is due to their 24/7/365 snowflaking on CNN and every other Soros-funded ' news' channel.
However, let me state one caveat: it's a bit like choosing between syphilis and gonorhoea

Isn't that normal? When was the last time you voted for the best candidate instead of the least appalling?maven wrote:Both parties are scumbags, and you know that is his sales pitch, so why clap?
