midterm election

Believe it or not, there is a whole other world outside of Cambodia and South East Asia, be it people or politics, frustrations or football, this is the place to talk about it.

I delete your last comment - tread carefully.

But as I’m up at this hour, I might as well comment on the midterms.

Trump just had a very combative press conference, declaring his victory, reveling in republican loses to those that didn’t embrace him, attacking reporters, and really just being Trump. Then hours later Sessions “resigned” at the president’s request.

Things are going to get nasty in January/February as Democrat congressmen get going.

90 painful minutes to watch. He should know not to take questions in a forum like that from a press corps that absolutely despises him and constantly boast about it.

The Twitterverse is chock full of butthurt Dem supporters (again) calling the US Senate unfair. Boo fucking hoo.

His 'job' is to cause divisiveness; it is a job he is doing very well.
When his usefulness has run out, he will be dispensed with.
The Civil War he is expected to cause in the good old will happen before he faces the next choice.
By then he will have no personal say in the way things have been prepared to pan out.
It will already have been decided.
Or so they think ...
Love will overcome all
Their time is running out.

About time too. How about 50% of Americans fail to see the similarities between Trump and Hitler is the most dramatic thing that's been going on for the last 2 years. Ignorant bigotry rules.

You need to stop watching CNN, bro!

As far as I can see Congress still makes the laws and the court system is free from Presidential interference. Americans still have the right to own guns. They can still travel anywhere in the world they want.

There are no concentration camps. Radio and TV broadcast what they want. The rule of law still applies to citizens. The Constitution is still the law of the land. The US military is comprised of volunteers and they can't fire against their own citizens.

A student of history would have a strong argument that the only similarity to Nazi Germany is the Socialists on the left calling for the same type of economic and political system Germany had in the 1930s. And, there desire to strip Americans of firearms and making business the cash cow of government.

Maybe a more salient question is, how is the Democrats view of the future direction of the country different from Nazi Germany? In my opinion, it's much closer than you think...

So, please persuade this Islamaphobic transphobic,racist,white,cis-het, bigot of the similarities between Trump and Hitler.

Godwin's Law, with a twist.

Yes, Donald Trump is a fascist.

The internet proverb known as Godwin’s Law warns of the increasing likelihood of a Nazi or Hitler reference the longer a conversation goes. That law would seem to apply to Donald Trump in a different way: The longer he runs in (and atop) the Republican presidential primary, the probability of him sounding like a Nazi increases.

And herein lies the problem. The rabid anti-Trumpers make outrageous claims by calling him all sorts of things - fascist, racist, sexist, bigoted blah blah blah, when it’s difficult to prove any of those things are actually true. For example, how can he be fascist when he completely ignores the numerous protests against him? Would Mussolini have done that?

Focus on the fuckups he actually does make, and people may turn against him.
