Of course, things were a little different back in 1897 for Frederick Cook, Explorer, on his ship the Belgica.
On its way back to South America, the ship got stuck in the ice for an entire cold, sun-less Antarctic winter.

Full Story:... He began eating penguins. They taste like “a piece of beef, odiferous cod fish and a canvas-backed duck roasted together in a pot, with blood and cod-liver oil for sauce”

Caution, however, should be taken when preparing rogue penguins. Laboratory studies have shown that the brains of these super-aggressive animals are toxic and should not be eaten. Although a definitive cause has not yet been established, scientists theorize that prolonged exposure to ultra-violet radiation causes a chemical chain reaction in the penguin pituitary gland which in turn triggers mutations in brain cells.

A penguin was driving down the road one night, when the "Check Engine" light came on. He pulled over at the gas station, and the attendant said he'd take a look at it, and tell him what was wrong.
The penguin went over to a nearby shop and bought a vanilla ice cream cone. He finished the ice cream, threw the wrapper away, and walked back to the gas station, where the attendant was waiting for him.
"It looks like you blew a seal," said the attendant.
"Oh, no. Its just vanilla ice cream," replied the penguin.

Everybody seems to love penguins. Could they be the most lovable/popular (and best for advertising) animal?
Never, ever, attempt to read "South: The story of Shackleton's 1914–17 expedition". More boring than the full version of Moby Dick.
The Endurance's tale is great, I highly recommend reading "Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage". It's a quick and easy read, and it's quite amazing to hear what those guys survived - mostly by eating seals and penguins. Shackleton's rescue was also heroic, with the voyage of the James Caird ranked as one of the greatest boat journeys ever accomplished. But the most impressive might have the crossing of South Georgia Island on foot.Playboy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 5:30 am
