Sensible discussion on British politics thread
I’m surprised no one mentioned the Johnson incident today. Asked to look on a reporter’s phone at a picture of a young boy forced to sleep on a pile of coats while awaiting treatment in hospital, he instead waffled vague platitudes about ‘getting brexit done.’
When pushed future on the image, he took the phone from the reporter’s hand and instead of looking at it put it in his own coat pocket.
Extraordinary incident. It wouldn’t suppose me if it’s as expensive to him as the famous Gordon Brown Mrs Duffy incident of a decade ago.

I think it was Clare Foges in the Times who made the point that it doesn't matter too much; everyone has already made up their mind whether they love or hate him,and something like this will just make everyone love or hate him more (or something like that). I think she's probably right.

Exactly, I don't think anyone is changing their mind on what colour they vote for, and probably 99% never have - the question is whether they turn up or not, not whether any incidents will swing votes.
Boris could be caught in a NY toilet giving Trump a "Boris Johnson" and next week the folks in blue will still turn out and vote for him. Likewise Corbyn could take a selfie with Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang with the caption "Discussing a new style of communism for the UK!" and the folks in red would come out and vote red bleating on about the NHS before dropping their ballot in the box.

I really can't see the big deal with this , just more false lefty propaganda, Basically a staged photo of a boy with flu who then went home later.Dallow Spicer wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 3:22 pmI’m surprised no one mentioned the Johnson incident today. It wasn’t staged. And even if it was the real point is Johnson grabbing the journalist’s phone and putting it into his own pocket to try to avoid him having to comment on it.
For those who like things simple !!!.
When Looney Labour left office, there was only one Food Bank in The UK.
Fast forward 2019.............. There are now more food banks in The UK than MacDonalds and Burger King combined.
And they are being used by the working poor ( zero hours contracts ) and our Nurses.
Take your Fuzzhead22 out of your Fuckin arse. Tory prick.

If you have at least a part-time job of say 20hrs plus, then there's absolutely no need to use a food bank, unless of course you are hopeless at budgeting, And of course, most people should aspire to at least 30hrs wk work.EIKROY wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 6:34 pmFor those who like things simple !!!.

Nurses are always complaining about being overworked, so no chance of the 'not enough hours' excuse there.

Ex-military personnel - so are you saying that just being in the military, regardless of what you have done in it, or for how long - entitles you to life on easy street? No sir it doesn't.
This is just more mindless, pathetic virtue signalling from the childish left. Hell, you guys would actually demobilise the military given the chance and now you try using it as some kind of sob-story.
Quite so, no point in taking these thing too seriously.
