Meanwhile, back to UK Politics. A smallish reshuffle has resulted in a previously vacant position being filled, but the question remains ...
Who did Simon Hart piss off so badly that he got exiled to the land of Swarthy Little Cottage-Burning Dwarfs ??!?
Not a glamorous posting by anyone's idea. Even if it is a career promotion for the former Junior Cabinet Teaboy
Sensible discussion on British politics thread

Hooray! The pound's up after this decisive win and clear mandate.
Oh, wait, that means this Brexit thing might actually be closer to nearly happening? Damn.

Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
Money can't buy you health or happiness, but it can buy the rich elite EU citizenship.
Cyprus government documents seen by Reuters show that Tory Party donors have applied for citizenship of the Island, an EU member state since Britain voted to leave the EU in 2016.
Money can buy you British citizenship too, so I guess that's reciprocal.
LETS GET BREXT DONE. ££££££$$$$$$$$$.

Doesn’t every sensible person have or at least try to have two nationalities these days?
I’m currently looking into getting a third.

The Conservative Party would like to reiterate there is absolutely no connection between their acceptance of large sums of money from high profile Russians with links to the Kremlin and Boris Johnson's decision to suppress the report on Russian interference in elections.
Furthermore............ There is absolutely no connection between me baking a cake and Christmas
And there is no connection between my car and my driving license.
Not even a tiny connection
No, Nothing, Zero, Null.
Just saying !!
Merry Christmas everybody,

Merry Christmas everybody,
There is a man in a hot-air balloon.
He is lost, so he shouts down to a woman he sees on the street below.
" Excuse me, I am lost can you tell me where I am "
" Of course. You are at 31 degrees, 14.57 minutes north latitude & 100 degrees,
49.09 minutes west longitude " she replies.
" You must be a Remainer " he says.
" Yes I am. how did you know " ?.
" Because everything you have told me is factually correct,
but the information doesn't help me, and I'm still lost ".
" Frankly you've been no help at all ".
" Well you must be a Leaver " she replies.
" Yes. " How did you know " ?.
" Because you have decided to put yourself in this position.
You have risen due to a lot of hot air.
You are not in control of what you are doing.
And you expect me to solve your problem.
You are in exactly the same position before we met,
but somehow now i'ts all my fault.

I also wanted to Remain but I’m big enough to accept that vote has been lost and I’m putting my faith in Johnson to come up with a sensible exit that won’t harm the country too much.
Ever hopeful.
Couldn’t have said it better, but one thing that irks is Johnson’s lies during the leave campaign.
As Michael Heseltine said ‘Boris looks at which way everyone is running, then runs to the front and shouts “follow me”’
That’s it.
UK “left” the EU at 23:00 last night (Friday 31st).
Feels weird.

It felt weird when we signed up without any notion about what it would entail. I was just 13 at the time. Suddenly, VAT was imposed everywhere. Thank firk we are now out.
