Questions for the Strayan Cousins about the Top End
Questions for the Strayan Cousins about the Top End
So it's 35 years this month since I finished a year hitch hiking round Australia and I have an urge to go back, but this time with a bit of money so no rough sleeping or stealing to eat.
There are some super cheap flights to Darwin so I'd fly there and rent a motorbike and head maybe towards Broome and around.
Are there still campsites all over?
Are there still old style roadhouse boozers with rooms and or camping?
Is it still a bit wild up there, or all sanitised ( minus the arse paper) and stuff?

You can do helicopter pub crawl to outback watering holes in the top end. I think that is pretty boss.
All the local operators will probably slash prices given what’s going on. Definitely good time to visit.

So to my questions:
Will I still meet nutters with camel trains in the desert? That sort of thing.
Will boongs still steal up beside me and say, hellow boy?
And on the subject of boongs, how much is a boong's briefcase these days? Those big boxes of often very drinkable wine.
Edit: Why hasn't Google prohibited boong yet?

Well got me visa.
Said it was free and then charged me AUD 145 at the end. Slippery convict cunts.
Had to lie a bit on the application form as it's almost as bad as murca but they don't have access to the UK criminal record system.
See yas in the Top End ya karnts.
Will practise swearing for the next few days

if you are coming any time soon you are now required to self isolate for 14 days upon arrival. so maybe stay in Darwin and get yourself some lady company for the 14 days.

Kin Karnts.
How does a tourist self isolate?
I mean you have to get a cab from the airport and which hotel wants a potential leper?
Morrison is a karnt mayt.
And I already paid for the ticket.

unless you feel unwell, then taxi from airport is fine and expected.
I asked the same question - how a tourist self isolates. I have no answer. Backpackers in group self isolation, I guess.

Easy to be isolated in the outback though I suppose. Just take plenty of water, sunscreen and fly spray. M8.

Right but I have to go to a camping shop to buy a tent and a moto shop to rent a bike. How the fuck is that self isolating?
From my reading it might even be illegal.
