Is the U.K. a functioning democracy? I think so, in the sense that it has all the features (including failings) of any democracy. They all have their flaws. Right now it’s more flawed than at any time in recent history but I’m hopeful about the future. The US came through its recent test; the U.K. will too.wibblewibble wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 6:00 pm''That will be a very bad thing in my view. Would you consider the UK a functioning democracy?
Do you, like me, dislike military dictatorships and fascists who abuse human rights?
We have lots in common, it seems.
I do dislike military dictatorships and facist regimes. I am no fan of the Israeli regime for example, although I do recognise its right to exist. And I say that as someone who - for many reasons, some of which I’ve discussed here recently - takes a great interest in the fortunes of the Middle East now.
What gets me about you though is that you are selective in your rants. I don’t recall you ever complaining about Muslim kids dying in Chinese concentration camps or in Syria. You focus solely on Israel, because you hate Jews.
