Covid vaccine - jab or you’re barred
Covid vaccine - jab or you’re barred
There’s an interesting discussion in the U.K. now with the minister responsible for rolling out vaccines suggesting that your vaccine status will be recorded on an app.
This will allow indoor venues like cafes, bars, restaurants etc to identify if you have been vaccinated or not, which might influence whether they let you in.
They are of course free to do that - pubs are private businesses after all - but of course anti vaxxer groups are outraged.
I don’t know why. No one is forcing them to have the shot. They just need to know they will likely be persona non grata mixing with the rest of the population.
Which, of course, is a great thing

they will never pass any legislation that will make the covd vaccine mandatory.
They will make it necessary for international travel.
Qantas has already said they will require it for flying on their planes

"We are turning into a nation of whimpering slaves to Fear—fear of war, fear of poverty, fear of random terrorism, or suddenly getting locked up in a military detention camp on vague charges of being a Terrorist sympathizer." HST
What is the logic here? If I am vaccinated I’m not going to care if I’m exposed to someone that is not. They can’t make me sick because I’m vaccinated. What’s the problem?
Do the vaccines mean you can still be a carrier without getting sick? I dunno.
I just like the idea of the anti vaccer brigade being forced to separate themselves from the rest of society. I’ve often thought most of these views are paraded as fashion accessories. Measures like this will test their resolve.
I believe certain Australian states already have laws in place like this - if you don’t get your kid things like polio vaccines, you lose government benefits.

I don’t know how well this ban is going to hold up against the world’s legislations on free travel. I am not convinced that it will work, nor that it’s a good idea...
What ban? As someone said, no government will make vaccination compulsory but there is nothing to stop private companies - be they airlines like Qantas or pubs or restaurants - from banning customers they don’t want.
As for the world’s legislation on free travel, how is that working at the moment? Most countries say you can’t enter unless you show negative tests. Why shouldn’t private companies be allowed to follow the same policy?

Its being reported that uk has become the first country to approve pfizer covid19 vaccine.

I guess even If vaccinated it would be possible to transfer the virus onto a surface, or a hand and whilst it may not make the carrier sick it could be transferred to a third party who may not even be on premises.
But so far vaccines only give 90-95% protection... so there is still a risk of sickness to those vaccinated.
Don't really like vaccines to be honest but I'll take it. They worked for smallpox, cholera, TB etc. Even flu for those that get the jab every year.

No vaccine is 100% effective especially if the disease has the oppourtunity to gestate and mutate inside anti-vaxxers. You may also give a shit about other people and wish to achieve herd immunity so those who are unable to be vaccinated due to having a compromised immune system can also be protected.

I feel sorry for the coronavirus.
How is it going to survive when these vaccines are released?
I guess it will need to go to anti-vaxxer soap deserts in Oregon and Northern New South Wales,

I see an opportunity for renting out smartphones.
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Neither do the people who made the vaccine it seems:

Presumably you can have it on your hand or something but have protection.Visser wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:30 amNeither do the people who made the vaccine it seems:
