Suez Canal blocked by huge container ship
After torpedoes have it sitting nicely on the sand, they could dig a new canal around it and make that thing a memorial and tourist attraction complete with onboard 4 stars shipping container accomodation, buffets, bars, nightclubs, casinos, joyrides and massueses.

Another factor if this goes on much longer is that such a huge ship suffers enormous structural stress by the bow being lifted whilst fully loaded. All ships are built to flex, but this continuous lift of the bow causes prolonged stress that is not sustainable, might even cause it to rupture. It could also cause so much structural stress that it will be an instant write-off. If that is the case one can only hope that she can at least leave the canal before emergency unloading has to take place. Imagine having to unload 20k containers at that location. It would take a while...
Who’s lifting the bow. It’s wedge into 50 meters of sand. The Suez Canal isn’t the British channel and it pretty calm with minimal tide which is offset by onboard sea water ballast.
Pretty sure the bow gets lifted quite a lot in rough seas dragging the rest of the ship and cargo after it. They are very flexible like a 19yo ballerina.
(I just made all that up. Might be true might not. Probably not)

Waves are not on issue since she ship flexes back and forth within its design parameters. As it hit the side of the canal even at a fairly low speed the gigantonormous mass caused it to push itself onto the beach with a significant force. Creating a constant upwards tourqe at the front of the ship. This is not a stress that is part of the design model. Depending on how much it is flexed it could cause structural fatigue or even catastrophic failure. You also have the tides making this worse at times.

Perhaps it's clear to everybody else, but:
What does EVER GIVEN actually mean, in context?
Sure that ship has not given me the plague, i should know about that, but what has it ever given?
Or has it somehow, somewhat been ever given?
Then what?

For the record: i didn't ever mean to kill this thread with my inquiry.
Judging from the silence ever since, i take it none of you are in the know as to what EVER GIVEN really means?
to be, or not to be EVER GIVEN?
that is the question

Doesn’t mean anything.
Evergreen’s ships mostly start with “Ever” then a name. There’s also Ever Safety, Ever Dainty, Ever Racer and Ever Lasting etc.

Well, last i heard it was Chuck Tingle who managed to free the Ever Given. But now she's stuck in his butt.
Why, of course, that's just natch
